Hi Nick,

When trying to upload a pic/photo to my profile, I get the following error:

Access to the path "c:\hosting\webhost4life\member\Spotnick\Images\Member\8038.JPG" is denied.

Same here TLV. I was told by jeff the chef that he needed to link to a picture on the web. I'm away on business so I haven't tried it yet.

An user at the Portuguese forum also complained about this problem.

Today I get:

"The following errors occured when uploading your picture: A generic error occurred in GDI+."

A very descriptive error...

both errors you've given are problems with YOUR windows install. GDI is the imaging subsysem of windows

Why would MY browser-action generate such a message encoded in HTML in the page I'm seeing? MY browser is not doing anything but trying to upload a file that happens to be an image.

Besides, I'm running Linux, and there's no GDI in Linux...

It's the resize function that doesn't always work... and yes it's very descriptive...

Somehow, pictures at 301 pixels wide always work... don't ask me why!

Strage. Unfortunately, pics with a width of 301 pixels don't work either. I give up.

hmmm, tried it again and it seems to work. the bigger the picture, the better it works...

I used 602 pixels width, 584 pixels height

I had the same problem but now I had success in uploading, but the picture doesn't show in my posts. Does the picture have to be approved by someone before it shows?

i got the generic GDI+ error message too. then a pic 602x602 pixels seemed to work, but it doesnt show in my profile or as avatar... is it cos i'm not using Windows? do you have to fill in the whole profile for anything to work maybe? (i hate forms)

I also resized my picture larger before uploading and it worked. It looks better in my profile than it does when you actually click on it but whatever.

Thanks for the solution
