DC - what does paydirt mean? I've heard it a couple of times recently

Didn't know this was a regional metaphor? Being a mining man Oiler, you'd like that one. I'd imagine it comes from striking it rich when digging - 'hitting paydirt'. What I was trying to say was that things are going nuts for NO collectors at this moment with a dizzying array of promos and commercial releases available.

Spotto, the Jetstream 1-track radio edit promo CD (with pic sleeve) is cat no: PRO15390.

Perhaps I can help with that double CD thing...

I'm from germany and I bought the 2 CD-WFTSC...

It is no Double-CD. It is the normal CD + "Krafty" as a free givaway in a cheap cardboard sleeve (can I call it that way?). The "Bonus-CD" only contains the Album Version and the Single Version.

Murder - Benelux 12" with white labels instead black. Guess this is a dutch release. "Made in Holland" on backsleeve, and catalague number 08-024863-20 is typically for dutch releases.

Has anyone managed to bag the Jacques Lu Cont CDR yet? I was tempted, as there's two Jacques Lu Cont mixes that are going to appear on the official release, with one being vinyl-only...

It'd be a bit of a bummer if the one on the CDR was the vinyl-only version and I didn't take the option to buy it, but at 35 quid... :eek3:

It would be a shame although these sorts of mixes have a habit of appearing on US Maxi-CDs when they eventually get a release. Here's hoping.

Oh, and btw, here's a heads up to those looking for promo CD-R's on ebay.

If you see either of the two descriptions (for "Radio 1 Promo CD's - from Hanover") on an ebay sale (and the seller is from the Czech Republic or, sometimes, the US), *don't* bid on them. They are bootlegs, despite the claims!

RARE TO HEAR AND TO FIND. OUT OF PRINT.

Factory pressed original CD – not a copy! You can't find it in stores!

This release comes in new slim case without any artwork.

CD is UNIQUE. You can hardly find another copy of that Radio 1 dj's promo CD.

This cd came directly from radio station private collection and has never been available to the general public. The cd is in excellent condition with no scuffs and plays flawlessly. Was released in limited quantities to be spread within industry to promote rare releases of different artists. Was intended for PROMO USE only and stricktly radio braodcasting. Comes with no artwork but has special sticker with info about release. CD is factory made - not a copy of any kind! Includes serial number and licence information. Looks really proffessional.

I wouldn't mind, but they're trying to palm them off as legit and making people pay between $20-$25 for each one!! :nono:

I got stung by these guys too,but the copy i got cost $7. Ther isn't just one seller from czech, theres one from finland, spain, and the us.the cd i got came with a moscow postmark. Dont really want to name individual sellers but i put a complaint in to ebay. I can't believe in all my years as a collector that i got stung, once bitten twice shy!

I just knew you'd come sniffing when you saw that post, Pats. You just couldn't let it go could you? If you have to know I was posting at near 5am, after a foolish 7-hour stint on Resident Evil 4. I then had three hours sleep and got up for work. I'm now officially a wreck. You know full well what the time difference is between east coast USA and west coast Australia - you just swap the AM for a PM and presto.

Think our Greek CD-R promo mate is in the same boat. You do have to wonder about the mentality of some buyers, don't they wonder how they can purchase a Greek promo of something when the UK promos are barely even out? Moreover, with remixes not even commissioned by Warner? Still they pay the big notes.

Well, yes, DC. I was actually wondering if you were up really early or really, really late. And you've answered that question. And of course I wanted you to know that I was paying attention.

There was a 10-track (or so) Greek CD-R of Jetstream with three DMC remixes tacked onto the end. It sold on eBay around the same time as the first UK CD-Rs came out and seemed more than a little .. hinky.

For the record...

The US 2x12" Krafty clocks 2 tracks differently...

Morels' Dub is 7:48 on the release, 7:30 on the promo. Eric Kupper Club Mix is 9:00 on the promo and 9:11 on the release.

Now, don't ask me to plug my turn table to check if they are really different, but the mp3 I have from the 2x12" promo is indeed shorter...

The 'Glimmers Dub Mix' of Krafty on the UK 12" (042800CD) is actually only 5:22 in length, and a completely different mix from the same-titled mix that appears on the CD promos. It's length is incorrect on the sleeve notes of that 12".
