As it turns out, this appears to the the Glimmers Alternative Dub version, ie. the 3rd different Glimmers remix of Krafty.

I'll dig out the Krafty and Jetstream vinyl and CD promos later and post details (and perhaps pics). I've also got some compilations not mentioned in the discography that maybe should be added - some NME/Select/etc freebies and some more 'official'.

I'll do my best to sort them out and post later.

Okay - had a look:

Krafty CD promo (Card Cover): PRO15273 - time=3:50

Krafty CD promo (Card Cover): - 'Krafty Mixes' PRO15314

  1. Radio Edit 2. Andy Green Remix 3. Album Version

Jetstream CD Promo (Card Cover) - PRO15390 - time = 3:42 (Radio Edit)

I'm sure I've got another couple of CD promos somewhere, but I can't find them

The 12" vinyl promos that I have are already posted in this thread (Jetstream anyway!)

This amendment to the Discography isn't really a recent one, it's to do with "World (the Price of Love)" CD singles from '93. I have a few copies from different countries and I think I've spotted a unique version of the "Pharmacy Dub" mix which as far as I can see the online discographies haven't noticed. As we can see from the entries taken from the New Order Discography (http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/) the Pharmacy Dubs on these two CD singles are listed as being identical in length:

CD5: GE 1993 (London/CentreDate Co Ltd. Int 857301.2) 5:51 World (world in action mix) 5:56 World (the sexy disco dub) 7:06 World (pharmacy dub) * 5:39 World (the brothers dubstrumental)

CD5: UK 1993 (London/CentreDate Co Ltd. NUCDP 3) [Int 857283.2] 8:03 World (the brothers in rhythm mix) 5:39 World (the brothers dubstrumental) 5:51 World (world in action mix) 7:06 World (pharmacy dub) **

In fact, the Pharmacy Dub * on the German "CD Maxi" is only 5:14 versus the more commonly available 7:06 version ** on the UK carboard sleeve edition. Just under two minutes completely missing. I've made MP3s of both and they sound identical except the German 5:14 version fades out where the 7:06 continues  I know it's not particularly a big deal but I suppose the German CD has a unique mix; the "Pharmacy Dub Edit" perhaps? All the discographies from Niagara to NOOL and WIM list the German CD as having the 7:06 version.

Anyone else spot this or is my GE one a freak mis-pressing?

Ally.

Apologies if I've missed this elsewhere on the site.

You're bloody joking! I got mine for about ten Australian dollars off ebay at the beginning of the year. I also had the UK promotional postcard they sent out to promote the single in '97. I'm saving up my Sub Sub collection for a rainy day when some loaded newbie Doves fan searches for it on eBay :evil4: I've got pretty much all the CDs by now including Delta Tapes which was a bastard to acquire.

Only when I'm really strapped for cash of course ;)

No joke! I'd have put the link in my post but I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to these sort of things - I can't even figure out the smilies thing!

Sorry Kirschy, think you missed my reference. There was no, erm, "telling off". I save that for the likes of CTB and the gimp suit.

Just messing around. Orbital because they did the Dr Who theme and you said Tom Baker remix, it was a small slice of DC wit, oh, ah, forget it.

Ok no probs. Your wit was just a bit too obscure for me. This happens to me quite often as well. I forget that many people aren't as educated or informed as me, and I come across as an arrogant or worse nasty git, when I'm just having a joke.

Mr Discography wrote: The 'Glimmers Dub Mix' of Krafty on the UK 12" (042800CD) is actually only 5:22 in length, and a completely different mix from the same-titled mix that appears on the CD promos. It's length is incorrect on the sleeve notes of that 12".

Andy

Could someone please summarize the Krafty variations? I don't want to have another WiM-confusion again...

Thanks.

I can help you out with this, I've got a heap of the WFTSC-era release details and variations filed. Updating your site soon?

I'm planning to... Well, soon is all realtive. I'm doing some work now when I have vacation and my g/f is away on a trip.

I don't have all the details on the WFTSC-releases yet, but most of the other stuff is already updated. I've also updated the HTML a little bit, adding CSS. The main thing I have left is to add the 100+ scans I have laying around...

you have the final CD pressing of PC&L as being in the UK in 1993, but i'm sure mine was released in the US in 1990 (it doesn't specify by whom, it only has quest 1983 on it, although it does mention that it's a division of warner).

While we are at it . My copy bought in Oz is the English Factory one made and mastered by Nimbus, as is my Low Life.

No CBS or Festival to be found on it.

http://www.neworderonline.com/Music/Release.aspx?ReleaseID=143 The True Faith song listing for the above link seems to be incorrect. It's listed as the Morning Sun remix/edit for the soundtrack to Big Lights Big City but I just bought the cd and it just lists True Faith with a running time of 5:54 as opposed to the Morning Sun remix/edit which lists 4:04.

Any ideas?

...it's a faded out version of the Shep Pettibone Remix...

Did anyone have the WFTSC single promo layout already?

I've seen it on another thread, but I can't find it.

Some notes and additions for the discography...

There are actually two US promo 2x12's for "Krafty":

  1. PRO-A-101531-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-101531 = die-cut sleeve with sticker

Track listing is the same for both releases, but the labels reflect the unique catalog number. I can provide scans if needed.

Similar situation with "World":

  1. PRO-A-6276-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-6276 = custom picture sleeve

This is something that Warner seems to do on a regular basis and has not been picked up in any of the on line discographies. I guess the "A" version is issued in advance of the promo with artwork.

One final note, I have both the UK and the US 2xLP's for WFTSC. To my surprise, the US version is simply the UK 2xLP with a sticker over the UPC code showing the US item number.

Quick question which may have been answered before... I recently got a copy of the "Threesome" soundtrack CD for $0.99. What I would like to know is whether the Bizarre Love Triangle mix featured on this soundtrack CD essentially the same as the unique Canadian 7" edit previously only available on vinyl? I've listened to both and the only difference I can really notice is that the Threesome version fades out about a second or two before the end (hardly guts the song really) but aside from that are they considered the same mix?

Cos if so my crappy Canadian 7" MP3 is getting trashed :D it's not the best sound!

Cheers.

So on average do you get these cd's from going to their gigs or what?
