After watching Duran Duran win a lifetime achivement at the Brits (and making an arse of themselves at the same time!) I was curious if NOOLer`s would like to see New Order get one?

They`ve done enough to deserve one,but could they make it cool to get one?

:skeptic: This is not a poll...

I don't think it really matters. Heck, in about a decade, the Spice Girls, after a reunion tour, will probably get one as well.

The Spice Girls already have one.

They deserve one but they won't get it. The best bands usually get overlooked for things like that. :( It's not fair!

Well, New Order already received a well deserved Brit for Best Video for True Faith in 1987, and also received a couple of those Lifetime Achievements (one for Q magazine, the others I don't remember where...). Actually those awards are not entirely flattering, I sort of understand them as meaning something like this: "OK, you're old farts, you ain't trendy like the young dudes, you don't do a decent record since I went to school, but I remember a long time ago you did a couple of great albums and they also were chart hits, so here's your award, but now please retire." In fact, what I liked with Get Ready was the feeling that it wasn't just an average comeback album from former glories, but an excellent album made by a band that would be great even if it was their debut, and the fact they had 25 years of legend in their past was just a bonus.

It seems inevitable that the Spice Girls would have a Brit award. If Britney Spears has gotten a Grammy for something or other and Michael Jackson has gotten numerous awards, it sadly makes sense :nonono:

No, not a Brit or Mercury
