LWTUA vs 1963

These two songs have great sentimentality to them and at times sort of like AIWWIW seems to share some music similarities to LWTUA. does anyone else notice that.... which one is more melodic....

You'll get a lot of blank stares from this lot....many hold LWTUA on a pedistool above all else. I agreee LWTUA is an important and magnificent song, but the fact is that 1963 has been and will always be one of my top 5 NO songs, so that's my decision.

I agree with Aleph,Love Will Tear Us Apart is one of Joy Divisions best songs & 1963 is one of New Orders best too. If i had to choose 1963 just pips it,i think.

Blue Monday loses against every other NO track, it is after all SHIT

LWTUA by a wide margin, never particularly cared for 1963.

The second I heard it 1963 jumped to the top of my list among New Order songs alongside Age of Consent. Love Will Tear Us Apart has always been my favorite Joy Division song as well (alongside Decades and Atrocity Exhibition), what a brutal decision.

I think LWTUA is probably slightly better just because there is no flaw whatsoever in it, whereas 1963's drumming I find a bit annoying. Still, the two tunes are two me, among the top five the two groups ever produced.

I have always considered 1963 to be quite weak and boring, so not a hard choice to make

Sod it I think I'll answer this post like a grown up for a change, basicaly you would like my opinion as to which is the more melodic song, not which is my favourite ? Okay, for me 1963

Both excellent songs. Cant believe 1963 was only a B-side on True Faith single (what a waste). Like True Faith, 1963 is New Order at their musical peak. Chord changes and a bridge-whatever were they thinking? Dont know what Hookys contribution was though. 1963 '94 remix was very lame. As for LWTUA. It is just the perfect pop song, so I'll go with that.

I think LWTUA is the best song of all-time!

Can you really compare these? Hookys Bassline on LWTUA is nearly unbeatable.
