I'm glad they've come back; they were the last truly great pop band the UK had before it all turned into manufactured shite.
Their latest album, Astronaut, is excellent. I find 11 out of 12 tracks on there as solid, if not great. I hope they keep churning out albums, they're not done yet! A classic band that's enjoying it's "finest hour". Didn't they win a Lifetime Achievement Award on MTV? They deserved it, but I think the Order should've shared the honors, too. But I may be biased. :\ohwell:
been trying to get tickets for their summer tour...but it seems to be sold out in tampa. we're waiting for orlando dates.

JT rules!!!!The new album has about 4 decent songs on it. The title track sucks. What Happens Tomorrow is the best one of the lot and a good song that they have been playing since they got back together in 2003. Live, Simon has an opportunity to fuck up the high notes on that tune as I have on bootleg. Nice is a good mellow tune. The others that I like from the new lp I cannot remember.
I saw them earlier this year. With the exception of Union of the Snake, The Reflect, Wild Boys and A View to A Kill it was a great show. Well, the only flat tune was AVTAK. They brought along a female backup singer and a sax player instead of using tapes. The light show and background animation were superb. They dug deep into catalog but could have played some better stuff if they would have left out the above mention trash.
Andy Taylor had to fly back to the UK to be with his dieing father two days before we saw them. Simon told us that they could have cancelled but decided to keep the momentum of the tour going. They had Dom Brown fill in as guitarist for 3 shows.
Excellent show, great sound and visuals. Unfortunately, a lot of fat chicks. The Killers brought out a better selection of meat err hotties.

i saw them in july. brilliant! my first duran show--although i think the crowd was a bit different than it would have been in the early-mid '80s. same people, more wrinkles.
It looks like they've been put through the wash.
Pity LeBon didn't snuff it when the boat malfunctioned. I'll have to try harder. 
I did quite like them way back then (around '81 and '82) but 'Union of the snake' came out the following year, and I definitely loosed any interest. Not too bad anyway these days, but not my liking.
Saw them for the first time years ago at the Birmingham Odeon, but I can be excused 'cos I was a very young duranie for a while. Also stood outside (too young to get in) at the start at the Rum Runner pub. Those were the days........ that should be left there. JT still pretty gorgeous though.
Hated them. Them and Spandau Ballet were the unacceptable face of the 80s, never mind Margaret Thatcher.
Let's also not forget the importance of Duran Duran to the MTV generation...they forged a new path for making viedoes interesting (end expensive!)But if you take away the glitzy image, the over saturatoin in the media in the 80's, you have a brilliant pop band who've matured through the years.
The new album's great...and finally we have the original line-up.
My fav DD songs have to be Come Undone and Save a Prayer.

Know i'm a bit late but i wasn't that much of a fan in the eighties but got dragged seeing them last summer and you know what? ... They rocked. Their music sounded brilliant and they performed well, and at least they, well, performed, rather than just singing to a backing track.
I've just saw them live in Argentina, great show. I expected a weak one, no way! Great performance and setlist.
Excellent 80's band... fairly iffy from the late 90's onwards...
The Notorious / Skin Trade period was a high point for me.
