You're at a New Order Concert, midway thru, Barney steps off center, and thru the marvels of modern technology, a lifesize 3D hologram of Ian appears, created from existing video footage with the isolated vocal track, from lets say, Transmission live at the TV. and the band plays along.

Bad bad taste. Plus most the kids wouldn't even know of him.

cool idea in some ways but bad taste in others.

it would be so shameless and bad that it would be funny.:abovelol:

I have a better idea, how about dig up his grave and show him on a slab, I am sure the idea would fly more than the hologram

He would have to be cloaked like Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars with the grainy bluish-grey hologram effect.

And New Order could play nothing newer than EGG or 586 era tunes :thumb:

Too bad they didn't mummify him back then...

I would support this idea , so long as Chris Barrie played IAN

Would have to be leaning against the far wall shaking his head mournfully.

don't they have enough trouble with the marvels of modern technology already :D

Now that you say it... I bet Ian's ghost haunted the auto-cue...

I think this is in very bad taste. Why not have an animatronic Ian after the fashion of kraftwerk's virtual concerts? Or why not dig up his skeleton and attach strings to it and reprise Curtis's famous "dead fly" dance routine? This is too post-modern - what would Derrida say ?

He ended up fullfiling a boyhood wish of dying early by topping himself and the idea of holograms, Kraftwerk-like robots etc filling the gap in the ranks is asking to be not only cursed by the ghost of Ian himself but the final and total destruction of any respect us JD/NO fans have for the 3 remaining members(if they themselves didn't see the idea as totally repugnant, which I'm sure they would) and/or the current management/record company setup they currently work with.:nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

Ha! There's an idea..if you're having him in a cloak, you can have anyone up there. It worked for Ed Wood and "Plan 9 From Outer Space"..........Not:laugh:

Maybe for a split moment and not tell anyone about it. Just to see if the crowd would talk about it later. "Whoa, dude, New Order were s hot last night I thought I saw Ian."
