WFTSC - YES or NO???

I've already answered this in Craigy's poll therefore can't be bothered to type the same s**t again and again. :D

I really like WFTSC, but to me it is the weakest - I wish I could say it wasn't...

Mind you, this poll is only to convince Craigy that majority on here don't seem to find the Sirens so weak although he claims different. :\ohwell:

Er... I don't need convincing; stats and comments speak for themselves; most of them more negative than me.

As I said I like this album but I regret to say that I think it is their weakest.

Don't make this poll personal to me, as I said if you want to do this poll it is up to you, it is your baby not mine!

Weakest? Possibly the best, but need a few years to answer that properly

Stats only show that Technique is the best not WFTSC is the worst. Come on, don't get so tetchy about it, if I had to pick the worst it would be Republic definitely, but I still love that rubbish a lot. :D

Not the weakest. Surely Republic takes the wooden spoon? Apart from the singles, I cannot bear to listen to it. Can anyone hum the 'tunes' of any of the non-singles tracks off Republic? I certainly can't, don't even know the track titles. I never listen to it.

I can remember all Republic songs. Shame I cant say the same about Movement.

Ok, so it is the weakest,because unlike Get Ready I feel its missing something. the songs sound good, but theres just no risk I guess. Its missing some feeling. Besides, even though I'm in the minority I think Movement, Republic, and Get Ready all had a few songs on them that are better than anything off of wftsc. Even though I think the title track is a great song.

I think it's a great album. Far better than REPUBLIC and GET READY, and somewhat better than BROTHERHOOD for me.

What a silly question. WFTSC is a very impressive set of songs. It may not have the great stand-alone tracks of previous years but that doesn't make it a bad album, let alone their worst. Even the lesser tracks are OK.

Neither the worst nor the best : the second just behind Technique.

No way. WFTSC album is one of their best from start to finish (well, Working Overtime I can probably go without). I'd rate it below Technique and receiving the silver medal. :D

Now, one torturous lyric from the otherwise beautiful WFTSC song is the "I won't desert you / I don't know WHAT SAY"! C'mon Barney, you can sing "what to say" or even "whatta say", can't you?!

Get Ready takes the cake in my opinion....rubbish like "Rock the Shack", "60MPH", "Slow Jam", "Run Wild"...

"I Told You So", "Krafty" and "Guilt" certified that this is a classic album, "for shizzle".

Better than Republic for sure to me. I can hear Hooky's bass anyway! what else to mention...

mm hmm! movement was just soooooo boring i cant hum any of those but the first track. but get ready also had some throw aways, although for some reason i actually like rock the shack. guess its the guitar

WFTSC is great ! the only album I don't love quite much is Republic (didn't really sounds like No to me)…

WFTSC is probably my least favorite New Order album, but it's just because of the lyrics. it has some great beats, great music--but it seems like there is a lot of filler in the lyrics for most of the songs.

I think WFTSC is a fantastic album and time will be much kinder to it than it has been to Republic, which in addition to sounding weak also sounds dated.

It's probably their best, actually. Get Ready is ace too.

WFTSC is so retrospective. What do you mean weakest album? Republic deserves that title.

Low Life has the best collection of songs, but were far better live than they sound on the album.

Someone mentioned something about the lyrics. I'd have to agree with that on some songs (GIAUE, J-E-T), but on others (WFTSC, Turn) the lyrics are some of the best they've ever done.

Also the songs went perfectly with what was going on in my life at the time, so it's their first record since Technique to strike a chord for me personally. Perhaps that skews my view on it somewhat. :)

Weakest link goes to Republic. I haven't listened to that one in years. Shame really, because I love Regret and Special, but the rest of it just never did anything for me.

Some of their most moving songs (Who's Joe, WFTSC, Krafty, Turn etc), but is let down by Working Overtime and I Told You So.

No. They should just go back to 8/9 tracks per album. In other words have fucking dropped Draculas Castle (shit title,even shitter song!)

WFSC is better than Regret and definitely better than Get Ready.

Dare I be honest, the Resident RoS's vote is NO. And I'll tell you why.

For one, this is probably the only album I can actually listen to from beginning to end and actually love. My coworkers love listening to bits and snippets of it when they pass through my work station, and even my Manager's wondered who New Order is thanks to this album.

There isn't a single thing on the album I don't enjoy.

I don't know whether it's the weakest as I have never heard Movement.

It feels a bit lightweight. Some great songs, but too many producers I think. It's the Raise the Pressure of New Order albums. Whereas Get Ready is the Twisted Tenderness.

Best: title track, I Told You So, Krafty, Turn

Worst: Guilt is a Useless Emotion. Nothing special about that track at all. Sounds like an outtake from Raise the Pressure. (an album I like)

Hey Rich dude!!!

I do have their first album since the late 80s and I do play it from time to time. Its also my music folder, so it plays at random at my PC cause my winamp is on random mode (and I don't skip it!). It's my opinion, and yes, definitely I can say that. I don't have to listen to Movement again to change my mind or opinion to satisfy you, because I know the album by heart, and it has been my opinion since New Order became my favorite artist back in the late 80s.

Also, I love Republic, Get Ready, and WFTSC more than Movement! And that is my opinion

I was about to start a new topic on this until I saw this thread.

I bought a copy of WFTSC just last week as it was the only NO album I didn't have and as I have heard so many people talking about it on here I thought I should investigate it.

I have to say it is much better than Get Ready which I think is the weekest album. I haven't listened to that for ages but at the time of buying it and then having a listen none of the songs made much impact. WFTSC on the other hand is brilliant. My 3 fave songs are

1 Guilt is a useless emotion - very sexy song/lyrics 2 Draculas Castle 3 WFTSC

I don't think its as good as Technique but I still really liked it. I also bought two Revenge albums and liked those as well.

Still true nearly five years on.

Republic just shades it by a bigger ratio: 4 good songs to 7 'meh' ones.

WFTSC is 5 good songs and 6 not so great.

I'm glad people voted "No" to the "No" covered album, though it has by far the laziest cover art of any New Order release [sorry Mr. Saville but anyone can do it...] but it's a strong album, the reason I think it gets such a bashing on here by certain people is because by New Order standards it is weak, but as a whole its a good album.
