No contest for me this one - one of the all time NO classics against in my opinion one of their most overrated tracks (see also one of the other matches!). So sunrise for me.....
I think that one of the best and unbeatable bassguitar and guitar ever written from NO is SUNRISE. Even after so many year have passed it is still one vivid mark from NO that reminds me that I was forteen years old at the time it was recorded. Sunrise is one of my favourites. Nick
Sunrise is unforgettable, a powerhouse feat. Hooky and Barney's best guitar work
Face Up has some nice instrumental moments, but Barney fucks it up with his out of chune vocals.
Sunrise it is for me.
I really like Face Up.
But anyone leaving me voicemail is greeted with a clip of Sunrise... a true classic !!
Both are just as great to me, but it's more interesting to listen to the evolution of "Face Up" in a live setting. That's my pick then.
kinda surprised to see Face Up only getting two votes so far. I'm with Gaius on this one, it's all those live renditions of Face Up that make this one stand out. Although I hasten to add, I do like Sunrise a lot as well.
Like them both, but went for Sunrise because the intensity of the track is something which doesn't happen too often in NO tracks, Face Up is fun, danceable, upbeat - lots of other tracks do that, but Sunrise is very individual, so it gets my vote...

Both stonewall classics, IMO. But went for Sunrise.
Saw Re-order soundcheck with Face Up at the Curtis Tribute thing last May and it was absolutely magnificent.
even the early rounds are proving difficult to call. I'm a huge fan of face-up it probably was my favourite track the very first time I played the album.
Sunrise however is only just more superlative. One of my all time favourites.
Funny ones, these. To me, Face Up was magnificent while they were developing it, but it went downhill as soon as they finished it! Sunrise was the exact opposite, a mess live while under development but it became a superb controlled burst of rage. Sunrise gets the OM vote.
I'm almost afraid to say which one I voted for...
but I do prefer Face Up...
eh, guess I'm just nucking futz...
Listening to Sunrise alone, late at night, immediately validates all the energy you've invested maintaining your faith in the band. Stunning song.

I listened to my proto-Low Life last night and noted how much I prefered early live versions of Face Up. But Sunrise developed into the better song on lp.

What he said.
This was insanely difficult for me... But I picked Sunrise because that's one of the coolest basslines I've ever heard. And because I did a cover of it. :D
Sunrise is so powerfull.
Every New Order elements I like are here: bass, guitar, drums, keyboards...
Another song I'd be happy to hear live in the future.
but still Barney able to sing it ?
Terrible that one of these has to go...but just for the time they played it at the Music for Miners gig Face Up gets the nod...
I gotta go with Sunrise. The bass line and guitar tracks are classic. It's that sound that has made NO so unforgettable...
Sunrise definately. Great bass line and the instrumental after Bernard stops singing (or straining) is top quality.
Face Up isn't a bad song. Its different but a bit dated imo. It suffers from stale production - some of the live versions were cool.
