Indeed, nice diversity in the guitar department. I'm in the ass-kicking mood right now so Denial it is.
OK.
Guilty Partner.
Purely for the MEN arena in 98. Nearly 10 years to rehearse the bugger and they f*ck it up.

At last an easy decision Denial. Guilty Partner must be one of those that I skip on Technique because I do not remember it.
DENIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE DRUMS!!!!!!!!!!!! ORGASM-ENDUCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never been too keen on Guilty Partner....In fact I've always felt that Technique is somehow more than the sum of its parts - whilst the whole album works, not many songs standout individually........I'll shut up now shall I?
So Denial.
Went with Denial but looks like it's getting a whoopin' off Guilty Partner, which ain't a track I like. Just never really got to grips with that one.
Undeniably it has to be Guilty Partner although Denial shows what path the band would eventually take
I'd have to listen back to Denial to be sure which song it is... ![]()
I think Guilty Partner is the weakest link on Technique, but I still know which song it is!
I think Denial is one of the better songs on Movement, really quite powerful, whereas Guilty Partner is one of the more forgettable tracks from technique.
Toughest choice so far I think, at least of this lot of match ups... Decided on Denial, as it does (as someone said above) indeed kick-ass and is the best song on Movement (apart from DNE maybe) and for me the link between JD and NO - I can imagine JD doing Denial - great drumming, powerful guitar... Guilty Partner is good, but since I'm more an early days kinda guy, Denial gets it... just...

Denial is awesome, especially live.
Guilty Partner is the weakest track on Technique, I've always thought.

right. and not feeling Guilty at all.- say hey- what Razed in a--works too.![]()
I never did memorise all the song titles on Technique. If Guity Partner is the one with the sublime synth over the lyrics 'you'll come back to me' then that gets my vote.
Im surprised by peoples apathy with Technique. Its a total joy to listen to and I think its an outrage that NO continuously neglect to have a single track in their set list. Run, Vanishing Point, Dream Attack or Round & Round should at least get a look in.
Guilty Partner is a great song (IMO) and has a confident, emotive vocal from Barney and a gorgeous acoustic guitar solo (maybe the only one NO have ever done?/or did a session musician play it?).
Denial is complete tosh.

is true and awesome. what a pairing indeed. but the lines- 'something I know--the answer's not there---it comes and goeZ--and it
frightens me- ----#-*
----is so fine.and Denial is from --Movement.
Another tricky one for me. I really like Guilty Partner, but also appreciate Denial now they don't play it anymore. Never liked it live, despite its undoubted power. Guilty Partner was a shambles both times they tried to play it live, never did understand why they altered the song structure for the live shows!
