Sure, I'm a fan of THO (one can hardly beat the bass in that one), but Ecstasy is near perfection from the entire band.

Oh yes there is... Hooky's bass is SO DAMNED GOOD on The Happy One, especially when you look at the LIVE version he did.

But after seeing this it makes you wonder if it is actually a New Order song, or a Hooky song... :shrug:

I don't really care for Ecstacy... as I said several times before.. on PCL there are only 3 songs worth listening for me... that is Leave Me Alone, Your Silent Face and Age of Consent... ;)

I don't really mind the others.

Hmmm... Up until recently would have said Ecstasy without a doubt, but having heard the live version of THO, it's noe Ecstasy with only the slightest of mini doubts... Hooky's bass on the live THO is ace, but I've never cared much for the snippets I've heard otherwise... Ecstasy is a strong song from a super-strong album, as someone said above - very dark and moody...

Ecstasy, I hate it if only because it is so damned hard to spell, I have wondered if the title is based on the drug although nobody heard of that drug until years later.

Could not stand the vocoder vocals which inspired Cher so therefore The Happy One wins by a distance.
