Best bit: opening guitar bit, and those at the end, singalong chorus, the bass and drums. The title, too.

Worst thing: lyrics aren't especially memorable.

Like it cause it's an enjoyable pop song, nothing more, nothing less.

Rating of 75%

The pastry thingie, though marionberry scones are my fave.

  1. Guitar sound, definitely.
  2. Nothing special.
  3. See 3, but Brotherhood as a whole improves with each listen.

I love the live version recorded in Perth, Australia in 1987, Barney goes ballistic! One of my favourite tracks off Brotherhood.

Not being one to resist a challenge.....

  1. Best bit is that they dropped it quite soon.
  2. Worst bit - the mindless banal lyrics. Drivel.
  3. Why? It's shit!

  1. Best bit Kind of uplifting.

  2. Worst bit Hooky & the Boys cover.

  3. Why you love it/hate it Neither love or hate it. Its a good driving song though.

  4. Percentage rating 65%

  5. Sausage Roll, Cornish Pasty or Cheese and Onion pasty ? Cornish Pasty. Sausage Rolls have dubious grey matter pretending to be meat.

  1. Nice arrangements, Hooky's bass and Barney's guitar go well. And they played it over the PA at Old Navy awhile back, so that always makes me appreciate even the Order's most dire works.
  2. Lyrics blow, the over-dubbed chorus is wretched. Like most of Brotherhood, the synth is mysteriously absent :skeptic:
  3. A change of direction for New Order. No longer the moody and dark Movement/Low Life, they went for a more "pop" oriented sound, and struck out hardcore. One CD of Brotherhood I burned went from Paradise directly to BLT

I am beginning to think that after As it was When songs Had Simple Titles Paradise is the best song on Brotherhood.

1 Byron Bay 1987 2 No worst bit 3 Check out the Byron Bay version of this, one of the best live moments ever! Or the Albert Hall 86 where Barney dedicates this song to Princess Diana:lol: 4 85% 5 Sausage Roll!

As far as i'm concered this song needs no 'best bit' 'worst bit'. The song is just fantastic. I totally love it, with it's high pitched chorus along with the layered vocals "Just like the ocean or the sea"... This and Way of Life both have that charm.

I remember it as being GREAT live, better than Blue Monday anyday :thumb:

Mike...Bernard could come on the stage and FART for five minutes, and you would say that was better than Blue Monday!!!!

  1. The guitar. That's all.
  2. The crappy lyrics, especially the chorus which is so lame.
  3. Simply because it's New Order, I will give it a chance.
  4. C or whatever is the equivalent passing mark in your school/country, plus 1 point.
  5. None of the above. I like green leaves.

Indeed*!*
