As with Face Up, I'm not a fan of AIIWIW at all, and never understood why it's held in such high regard. And although Fine Time is a bit cheesy, it captures a moment perfectly.
Fine Time, very out of character with the band in a good way, great way to start of Technique (opening the album with a dance tune instead of a rocker), cheesy yes, but I am another who just doesn't get AIIWIW.
AIIWIW - if only for the intro, so unlike NO... And the way the drums come in... FT is fun but since I'm not voting for the most fun track, but for the best...

I went for Fine Time after some delibaration. I don't think I'll be voting for it in the next round though.
just hated FT when it came out and still do not really like it. So AIIWIW for me, but it's not the song I like most...
Wow, another one that I'm surprised is so tight.
Fine time might be of a particular time, but it's not the best rave song around.
AIIWIW is a full-on New Order track. Probably not fully explored on the album version, but some storming live versions going around. Another one I'd like to see back in the sets.

Well put Colin, i wasn't particularly fond of the Brotherhood version but the live performance at the Hacienda on the Whistle Test was awesome. Was never a big fan of Fine Time although Hooky's bass at the end redeemed it somewhat.
Humm... These 2 songs have nothing in common and are representative of the 2 New Order side...
But Fine Time get my vote.
Not a fan of either of these at all, but seeing as I remember hearing it live loads of times in the mid eightes, As It Is just about shades it...
toughest one for me. I adore both songs. Fine time was instant love as it is pure hacienda, and very funny. The song with the long title was a grower and actually i dont lie\ke the album cut. I became hook on after hearing several live renditions.
Fine time for me
What is wrong with you people? - IMO AIIWIW is a half-baked bundle of bits that just don't fit properly - how can that be better than a girl with all her own teeth?????????
never rated AIIWIW very highly anyway, and although I hated Fine Time to start with, it's grown on me over the years and I love it!
I love cranking FT up in the car after work, and hearing "You got lot of technique..." Fine Time it is!

Same headache in the morning, but one is more fine at the time.

Well said, Biggy. Hearing it live in 85 was a lovely experience, I just remembered wondering after the show if I was ever gonna hear that song again.
The album version of "s It Was..."always seemed like such an awkward, half realized song, kinda of a failed experiment
"Fine Time" is so New Order, fun, maybe not a "normal" song but very much the personality of New order, i don't know why so many people have such a negative opinion of it
