I love and hate this song at the same time. It's so incredibly cheesy, yet I can't stop listening to it when it comes on.

Best bit: The intro of GUILT after skipping it.
Worst bit: Everything.
Why you love/hate it: For me, its the worst song of their entire career. REALLY disappointing.

Best bit: The samples at the start - sets the scene for the story.
Worst bit: I like it all
Why you love/hate it: A really strong song - one of the best in recent years and some cracking mixes. Also a good perfomance with Anna Matronic at Glastonbury and a very good video. I fly a lot and often look out of aircraft windows and 'see' the single cover.

Barney is no Jake Shears and the concept of the song seems a bit bewildering, taking NO's pedigree.
Fair play for trying something else but its absolute tosh.
All the remixes are gash, the sleeve is just lazy (might be time to fuck Saville off?),it seems to have be a minor hit cos of Ana Matronic rather than New Order?
Their worst single since, infact it is their worst single.

A porn site was playing Jetstream?
Pretty standard fare tune if you would catch it on the radio. Considering this is New Order the track is rather bad at least when you look at their back catalogue. Why was this ever considered as a single is beyond me, and also why WFTSC wasn´t selected as the pilot.
This is my favorite song on WFTSC, andone of my fave NO songs in general.
I think its one of New Order's classic pop song, along with BLT, TF, ect.
Jetstream is incredibly catchy. the song has a great, uplifting melody, and it makes me feel good every time I hear it. I like that the song is about some kind of wierd romantic relationship ("its been so long since I made you cry") and the chorus is just gorgeous, meloduc, catchy, very uplifting.
I love how huge the song sounds, how clear Barneys vocals are, how clear all of the keyboards and synths are. I like Hookys bass work on it as well, its melodic, elegant, and understated.
Ana Matronics vocals sit in nicely as well.
Also, I love the piano intro. its superb.
New Order have different sides. Jetstream is a perfect examply of thier ability to write gorgeous, catchy dance pop songs.
While JET was a reasonably sized hit in Europe, and while it got a TON of play in dance clubs in the US, it should have been a bigger hit. I think JET should have been the first single from WFTSC, followed by GIAUE. The album would have done much better in the US market had this been the case.

I agree completely. People tend to have different takes on each song because some people like to listen to NO in their car/home while others like to hear NO cranked in a club. Each song fits one or the other (or sometimes both). It's great that NO write music for us in all situations.
Jetstream... Kicks in a club and still pretty good while cleaning the kitchen!!
It's shit, but catchy shit (as in get-the-fuck-out-of-my-head-right-now-you-pile-of-shite-fuckin-play-age-of-consent-live-you-tossers kind of catchy)

Feel the same way....have to forward over the track once in a while though....not ever time but once in a while....
For me, the three dance-like tracks from WFTSC are the worst of the whole album. ![]()
I think "Turn" could have been a single much better than "Jetstream", although that doesn't have good potential for remixes. As b-sides, the band could have included an unreleased album track as they did in "Get Ready" singles, or use some live versions.
Don't know why this song always gets such a beating. It's no classic but it ain't a disaster either. Plus I fancy Ana Matronic.

You lucky ghet! I saw the Sisters here in Rome but didn't get that close to her. She's cool.

Shitstream. End of.
Best thing about it: It's not WIFM
Worst thing about it: Ana Matronic, crap lyrics
Second poorest song the band ever released, though to begin with I admit, I didn't realise how bad it was until it failed to grow on me.
Then things got worse.
Best bit: All of it
Worst bit: None
Why you love/hate it: One of their best recent singles I don't know why it gets so slated, its more poppy than your typical NO track but that is what makes them good they can pull off dark and do pop

I prefer the single mix, should have been a bigger hit
