I'm scared to go home... The house will seem so empty without the footy on the telly...

They should have all the teams that lost play on these off days, to decide proper overall placement in the tournament. That'd give us something to do!

Interesting to note that group winners went 6-2 vs. the 2nd place teams. Groups G & H screwed everything up with France beating group winners Spain and Switzerland losing to Ukraine. Also means no group advanced more than one team to the quarters.

Switzerland went out despite topping the group, and not conceding any goals. (penno's excluded)

Bizarro!!!

what national team has Bere adopted?

the Germans it would seem have a strange habit of adopting another team. they wear their colours and to all intents and purposes they look like they are from that country.

that is, until they speak, and say:- Gutten Tag, Meine Name ist Wolfgang auf Dusseldorf, und ich bin schtiken up for Owzzstralia.

Well, scandinavophile as I am, I was going for Sweden and of course the Africans, T&T and Australia. Always with the small ones. Normally I'm a Denmark fan, but those guys weren't in...

What was the keeper doing at that 1st goal??

I didn't realise that the Irish season ran from Jan - Nov.

Good luck against Odense in the intertoto :thumb:

Yeah, we changed to the Summer season a couple of years ago - its really improved our European results, we use to end up playing Euro ties in the middle of our close season - hardly ever won a tie (loads of goals against in the last 10-15 minutes) - now we expect to win through a lot more often, like Shels last week - a 5:0 agragate win over FC Vetra. It'll be tough against Odense - on paper they are a better team, but if we win through there, then its Hibs (Scotland!) in the final round - & they would be beatable IMHO.
