Almost a world first for me, wanting our neighbours les Bleus to win something! There's probably only Turkey I would want less to win a game, but good luck to the French tonight against the cheats. (reference to the entire tournament rather than the England game specifically)
France vs Geezers

Allez les bleus! Same as Tim, never thought I'd actually want to see Henry and co. win so much... Hope they give Portugal a footballing lesson and that the ref sends a few Geezers off for cheating... ![]()

And I suppose that if France is to lose, you will support Italy... Is that what you mean to say ?
Over Portugal - yeah, but out of the three teams left I'd rather see France win...

Well, I know nothing about soccer, but I started to watch a little due to the hype on here.
Can't watch the game because it's on work hours, but nobody here said yet 1-0 France with Zidane scoring? ;)
Oh just fcck off ,Portugal :finger:
I'm just sick of their diving, cheating and moaning.piss off!
Ah, that was wonderful. :)
I had nothing against Portugal coming into this tournament, but I was definitely rooting against them today. What a bunch of cheaters, especially Ronaldo. I was glad to see the ref didn't call very many of their dives, though it would have been nice if he yellow carded them for some of those dives.
Nice to see Zizu play well and Ribery is very exciting too!
What a pack of TWATS! Absolute fair play to the French for not rising to it, England did OK at that, for a while, but these guys were cucumber cool. Very enjoyable game (only seen 2nd half tho).
So 'Mon the Frogs, get the big gold thing in the bag this weekend, then sort yersevles with a Renault 1-2 at Magny Cours (And I'll say fuck all about where the cars are built ;) .
I loved the way the fans booed every time Ronaldo touched the ball. Apparently, he didn't get the message because he still dove. The ref didn't bite and was reluctant to call even legitimate fouls against him. Good job.
This Ronaldo is just a joke. Why don't the FIFA ban him for continous cheating? That's so ridiculous.

I think the French and any Germans in the crowd must have joined in the booing with the large number of English fans who didn't give up the tickets that they had.
Lots of St George flags around the ground (English ones with AVFC, QPR etc on them; not Portugese ones) ![]()
Well done France. ![]()
Now, come on Italy. ![]()

I will be supporting Italy in the final. Congratulations to France on last night's success, but I only wanted them to beat Portugal. You won't find me supporting France again until they are playing Turkey. I'd even support Argentina against Turkey!

The Portuguese didn't get anything from the ref - he was right to not give them anything due to their continuous diving!

I wish FIFA would review the videotapes and suspend players for continuous diving. Maybe that would help put and end to it. It is ruining "the beautiful game". They need to take drastic measures and right now it seems like they do nothing about it. I'm afraid it's just considered part of the game, which is ridiculous.

I assume your animosity towards Turkey has to do with the Galatasaray stabbing incident a few years ago?

Nope, it's because they are a bunch of barbaric chauvinist bastards whose attitude towards women is medieval at best. How the fuck they are allowed in the EU with their human rights record is beyond me.
There yer go.... the spoilt little cheating brat ,bawling his eyes out last night.Marvellous![]()

Well, Christiano Ronaldo did play much better than Zidane in this game. Zidade did nothing against Portugal - the penalty scored doesn't count ![]()
Zidane is still a great player, but don't you think he can decide the game by himself at 34. The game against Brazil is no parameter - that was a bad joke.
I know nothing about football, but that Christiano Ronaldo DID look good out there.. very speedy and lots of good play, only ending up to nothing.
And that comes from a guy who was watching his 3rd game to life.. the 2nd being England vs Portugal and the first one being Brazil vs France in 1998.
Yes, he played well. Apart from his four dives as attempts to cheat the referee and the opposition. He is a very good player, but a cheat.

I just got an email from a friend who lives near Birmingham: he told me the same thing! I nearly fell off my chair! English supporting France
It seems to be common opinion in the UK these days, I have to say it's hard to believe but hey, thanks anyway! We'll be delighted to avenge you ![]()
