I will be hardily rooting for France, but I predict Italy to win the match. :(

I'm surrounded by Italian-Americans so I have some empathy for you.

Same as I voted on Spotnik's thread. My heart goes for France but my head says Italy. :(

Italy :fingerscrossed:

Will not be able to watch the game on Sunday though :banghead:

I reckon Italy's defence should be enough to win the game- they've only conceded once in the tournament, and one of their own players scored it!

France, I hope.

Forza Italia - goals from Toni and Gilardino will see gli Azzurri crowned again.

I hope, France. Because then they will have two stars on the shirt and Italy will stay at three stars on the same level as Germany.

France of course!

but Italy will want to take revenge of the euro 2000 final...

Don't care as long as the game of football is the real winner... Italy were a revelation with their attacking play in the semi, if they play like that again I'd be happy to see them win, if they go back to being more defnesive then: allez les bleus!

I have a feeling this could be a boring game. I don't think either team is well known for scoring goals. I just hope it's not a scoreless draw going to penalties, like 1994. I hope both teams attack and play exciting as they have occasionally shown they can.

Italy have been scoring goals in this tournament, and they have been coming from all angles, with the defenders contributing 4, something you never used to associate with Italian sides.

It's true that they've scored some goals, and that their coach before the tournament said they'd be more attacking than a traditional Italian side, but I was skeptical of that. I think they may struggle to score against France (though I think they'll win) as France's defense is better than the other teams they've faced. Still, if they play an exciting game Sunday, then I will finally be convinced. :)

Some people here underestimate France... they beat Brazil and the Euro 2004 finalists.. for a team nobody expected to pass the round of 16, give them a break ;)
