As you might (or not) know, the U20 tournament is in 2007 and is in Canada, this great football nation :rolleyes:

Since some games will be played in Montreal, my question is... is it worth going? They will do this at the Olympic Stadium apparently... so 50 000 potential people, I wonder how many will show up.

I think it would be worth going if it was a good match. If Brazil, or some other such power is playing (Africa seems to have good youth teams these days) then at least you could some day say that you saw so and so play, such as the next Ronaldo...OK, bad example, but you get the idea.

I'm not very familiar with this practice, but don't top teams in England and Europe recruit players at a very young age?

The U20 is next year in JULY, so no team are playing them.

Problem is, tickets are in sale now, but we don't know which teams it's going to be.

Spotnick, I would suggest you definitely get in there. I recently worked at the tournament in Portugal and it was a blast. The quality of football is very high, and though you might not "know" the players I would suggest they will become household names. Think, the vast majority of that Argentinian team (which played the best football at the world cup) had come through two if not three U20 World Cups. You'll also come across loads of scouts who are trying to snap up the talent. Definitely worth doing and if it is local even better. Enjoy

There will be some great players there, you maybe won't know their names now, but you will certainly come to recognise them in a few years time!

I'll see what I can do.. this is the type of even that might be interesting, but buying tickets without knowning who's going to play is a bit too much for me.

I'm going to wait.. I doubt the Olympic Stadium will be fulled very fast... Montrealers are known for being last minute persons.

Yeah, I doubt they'll get too worked up over anything that's not hockey.
