strange how Parkhead & Old Trafford have ended up quite similar stadiums.
FT Celtic 1 Everton 0 (McGeady,78) Att - 33,937
Not much of a game in terms of excitement, goal scoring opportunities and atmosphere, though the Everton support made a lot of noise and looked to have travelled in good numbers. A wins a win though, and it's our first of this pre-season. Good performances from Miller, Boruc, Wilson, Nakamura and McGeady. Will need to improve on Wednesday against Man Utd though if we are to do the double over the Engerlish.

didn't have a clue about that one 
It definitely wasnae a great atmosphere or performance although McGeady looked great when he came on. Riordan didn't have a kick and the sooner we sign a left back and get Wilson to Right back the better. Caldwell and McManus in the middle of the back four worry me an all. All in all a good time to record our first pre-season win, especially as the Mancy lads pay us a visit on Wednesday.

IMO riordan celtic could be the making of riordan,great goalscorer and glasgow will hopefully make him grow up a bit,he seemed to be happy being a bit of jack the lad in edinburgh and got himself in all sorts of bother
gutted we lost him
cladwell on the other hand is mince and will be found out and booted out of parkhead before xmas

If they dive well they will fit in perfectly.I thought I was watching Portugal this afternoon.

I agree with you Robert, i've got very high hopes for Riordan. He has bags of skill and ability, is two footed and scores plenty of goals. Hopefully he can develop his undoubted talent and establish himself as an automatic choice for Celtic and Scotland as playing with better players and competing in the Champions League can only benefit him. It's too early for me to make a fair judgement on Caldwell, though the initial signs are that he can be quite rash in diving into tackles needlessly, he seems to have the odd lapse in concentration aswell. He does seem very comfortable on the ball though and likes to play his way out from the back. I think he may be more of a squad player once Balde is back from injury.
Jack - the DVD's will be sent in the next day or two - you should have them for the weekend
I agree with Uncly John's assessment, Caldwell dives into nearly as many unecessary tackles as McManus. Riordan needs to take a few lessons from Maloney and McGeady and show he's not scared to be in the first team, he has the makings of a quality player. I cannae see Strachan letting him pick up needless cautions either or he willnae be playing.

Jones has been my tip for the top for 2 years now. Still at least a year off the Prem though.
