Wrong, under UEFA competition rules, the referee must restart play for a free kick (within striking range of the goal) with a blow of his whistle. They were cheated twice on the night. Hardly surprising they were a bit upset.
OK, fair enough, but it wasn't Man Utd who "cheated" them, they were the victims of a refereeing error. The disallowed goal was a blatant push on the defender, even the one-eyed can see that!

I could see contact, not worthy of a free kick, though. Goal should have stood.
