Estimated upto 40,000 Liverpool fans going (thats 23,000 without tickets).

If the people who didn't have tickets stayed home, they fans lucky enough to have them wouldn't be getting their pants pulled down for flights & hotels.

Hardly any UK police will be uniformed, only at the airport and some at the stadium. Just in everyday clothes, Be a bit disrespectful to the locals if Italy and England swamped the place with uniformed officers.

Truth is i dont know if i'll be in the ground as yet, the idea of the british police going is to try and ease the language barrier. I dont speak greek, but if there are police who can speak english obviously its a great help in trying to keep things at a freindly level.

The suggestions that were being touted before United exited were unbelievable. It would've been worse case scenario for the policing.

Could've ended up being played behind closed doors...

Piffle, most will have a ticket before they go. Through whatever channel. I can't see more than 6k going over without a ticket

You can hardly blame fans for booking, when the bulk of ours won't find out till tomorrow, if they're getting a ticket or not. STHs who've been to all our home games didn't even find out they wouldn't be guaranteed a ticket until last Friday.

Surely the fans who've took tickets for all the away CL games will be"looked after" ticket wise,by the club?

Yes, you need 7 credits to be guaranteed a ticket, which is only around 5k.

Right, im off 5pm tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a good experience and not a fucking nightmare. Not gonna pull any punches after the shit i took from my liverpool mates yesterday, i hope AC fucking wipe the floor with Liverpool and show them up as the chancers they are, half a dozen games to get to a final and they think they're the best team in the world.

Can you tell i've had it up to the back teeth today?

Flew back this morning,

You were saying Hank? Only 6k going?

Try nearly 65k in the end. The ticket situation was a fucking joke, did you even get in? My colleagues said that the gates were letting people in who were showing Liverpool fan cards instead of tickets, and the old "i come back out for a beer,my ticket is in my coat up there" trick.

Im not gonna lie, as a manc im made up with the result. What goes round comes round and Liverpool fans had a good laugh on saturday at our expense.

Now, i'll defend the Liverpool fans too. The trouble that was reported was the greeks own fault. They had no control and were reluctant to let us help. During the afternoon it was fine, i spoke to loads of fans and had a banter about if we'd reached the final. Once the gates opened they just weren't prepared for the quantity of fans.

The use of tear gas and batons was totally unjustified and it will be noted in the british police reports. Talking on the flight home it was widely agreed that the Liverpool fans had behaved well and there was no trouble between rival fans.

Utimately i think Liverpool lost for one reason, they were too confident. There was moaning about the ET being cut short by 20 seconds, but it wouldn't have changed things.

Oliver, 11, tells of terror at the Olympic stadium

Oliver said: “It happened very quickly - I started to cry and sneeze. I left my hanky in the hotel room, so it made it even worse."

Hello!

Got back last night and have to agree with what Steve said about the policing over there.

It was an absolute joke outside the ground. Thousands of people milling about with no/fake tickets, waiting for someone to storm the gates:laugh:

In theory, should of had me ticket checked about 5 or 6 times but it only got scanned with an infra red light once, and that was pretty much it:shrug:

Right outside the ground where you see the fellas climbing the fences and that, their were loads of women and children crying all shouting to get back rom the gates, but when a gate did finally open, it was every man for himself. "Storm the fuckin gates!!!"

Meself, i ended up on the upper tier even though i was meant to be below, so i had to climb over a fence IN THE GROUND, cos i didnt wanna risk goin back outside:laugh:

It was still boss though, most fun i've had trying to get into a ground:evil4:

There was always gonna be trouble, but it was mostly the fault of UEFA for only giving out 17000 tickets, for choosing that ground, and LFC for only doing a ballot for everyone 6 tickets and under.

So there.

I got in fine, missed all the chaos, we had our tickets checked about 4 times.
