I have to work just one shift in that week and I'm offering to do the Wednesday 2pm - 11pm.

Hopefully Russia will have thumped Israel on the Saturday anyway.

We've know he's a cunt for months.

I dont know why they've dragged it out this long, its a dead cert he'll get the boot if Russia win. But, hey if we manage to get through we'll leave him in charge to ruin our Euro 2008 chances as well. :nonono:

make me sick when you hear Gerrard backing him and saying we shouldn't change managers all the time. Fuck off Stevie. Tell the truth you tit. You hate the bewt. admit it. They should all be made to watch the Russia game in a big room, with fans and press. So we can see them squirm.

for England not to qualify from that group is a disgrace. Stevie missing that Stevie Nicol style sitter against Russia was shocking.

I honestly hope Russia win comfortably now, so we can go into the Croatia with the crowd steaming and giving Mclaren loads. Surely he will resign then. Barwick should go too.

and i hope the Jocks win too.

Bit 'arsh. Venables is the man manager, that's why he's there.

I know a lad who played professional football, and played just one game under Venables - Terry picked him for an International XI against an England XI in a friendly. Says he was a legend because he actually made you feel wanted. had time for everyone. He ran into Venables five years after this game and Terry was straight over and asking him about his Mrs - he remembered her name - and his children. The lad I know still waxes lyrical about him to this day.

Oh, and this lad I know played under Clough and Pleat* so does know a thing or two about managers.

(*) I appreciate that might not mean a lot to most of the Premiershite fans who post on these forums but he produced the best football I've ever seen watching my team, with a minimal budget.

All very true - don't think anyone can argue that Venables has not been a decent manager through the years, some of the best England perfomances were under his management - but what was his contributin to England this time round? Facts speak for themselves my dear! The bottom line is - we didn't qualify and he was part of the management!

Get your claws in, you Division 1 bitch!

Er, shit, John?

Went from us to Forest for 1.5mill when that was a fcuking fortune in football.

Clough spent that money on him. He knew a thing or too about footballers.

Only thing with Kings was he lost his pace. Which was not good in his playing position. Still, he'd made all his money by then and invested it properly. Been retired best part of five years now and he's not even 40 yet. Jammy bugger.

Sorry, I'm lost. Venables is somehow taking the blame for this?

Buck stops with McLaren. No one else. I can't believe anyone's name should even be brought into the fold.

And it's League One, dear. Not Division One.

Division One is now called the Prem-i-er-ship. Which is what that nice Mr Murdoch and his friends at Sky reinvented in 1992 to keep all the window-licking types happy who got turned onto 'footie' by Gazza's crying at the 1990 World Cup. Like you. True dat, fact.

On the train into London this morning, some guy had a gob off at me for having the nerve to wear a red and white checked shirt (with a tie, no less) - accused me of being a "fackin pisstaker Jock and yer fackin Croatian bloody shirt". No - at no point has anyone said that it's all his fault - you're the one that spouted out some stuff about what a fantastic manager he was - when all people have been asking is 'what was his contibution?' Fair question seeing as he was on the payroll, he's part of the management team - end of. No blame directly at him, but he has to shoulder some of that responsibilty, surely?

If his job was to be the 'man' manager (and there to keep the media sweet) as you so called it - then what an even bigger failure - never seen a team with less heart or motivation then the England squad last night. IF that was indeed the purpose of his role!

You don't actually know anything about me or when I started going to football, do you darling? And it was a long time before Italia 90!

Do your research.....

You'd do us women proud with those claws - you bitter League One (or is that League three?) bitch! Happy now?

Glen Little reminds me a bit of Kingsley Black, the pace of a broken crutch, but can do things with the ball and just with his balance that most players could only dream of. Blakey should be back in the new year, and Reading may start scoring a few. Fine player, should have been capped.

We give Venners his due at Boro..When Robbo fetched Venners in to work some magic on a team headed for certain relegation,it worked a treat.Although it lead to Robbo's own demise as Venables was seen to supercede him, which was never Bryan's intention...Then sadly, Venables fucked off to work for ITV,which brings us neatly back to MacLaren. His Boro teams were boring, and everyone was pleased he went, albeit to poor old England...MacLaren was known to rely heavily on sports psychologist,Bill Beswick at Boro..Loads of stories to support that claim.... He took this fucking crank in the Eileen Drury mould, with him on the England post, and hey presto! he had another team with some good players playing like the Dog n Gun...Coincidence? Be intersesting to see what stories come out of the England camp about Mr Beswick now he has had his cards, along with MacLaren..They always wait until they are gone before they open the can of worms, don't they?
