Not surprised really Citys slump in form has been terrible during the 2nd half of the season. This was due in part to the formation he played which no-one liked including the players. His failure to sign more than a couple of good players has been exposed these last few weeks as the cupboard has been bare due to injuries. Despite taking 6 points off united, drawing against Derby, and losing to far inferior opponents was the nail in his coffin.
hes only been there a season. give sven a chance. hes a proven club manager (and actually was pretty good for england). im sure theyre do better next season. no one seriously thought they would stay in the top five did they?
at least they didnt get relegated like boro did when they were 3rd in league.
who better can man city get? exactly. so if they sack Sven I predict relegation next season. simple as.

Before the season it seemed like a real challenge to turn City in to a top 10 club.
After a few games, it started to look like we might be real contenders for the top five.
But Eriksson managed to turn us into a top 10 club after all.
It's hard luck for him that Richards and Dunne have suffered patchy form and injury recently because the early success had a lot to do with them.
Perhaps he should have stayed with Schmeichel - it's a mystery to me why he was farmed off to Wales to get more experience.
Elano's form has faltered to a stop and he seems really unhappy with the positions Sven has put him in.
Big signing Benjani hasn't delivered. Whether that's because he's not that good or he's been managed poorly is for debate. Personally I think he needs a fucking good kick up the arse, as do a lot of the players, and Sven doesn't seem to be that sort of manager.
The good Doctor might be making decisions based on returning accord to the ground, he might have a major signing in mind or he might just be acting for personal reasons. Like it or not, it's his train set and he can play with it as he likes.
He can't have taken the decision lightly; it's gonna cost him about a million to get Sven out of his contract (as opposed to fuck all if Sven leaves of his own accord so don't expect that to happen any time soon).
Poor Sven, takes a job for three years, leaves after ten months with the sympathy of most of the football world and a million quid in his back pocket. Nice work if you can get (rid of) it I suppose.
Scolari would bring the energy and passion to the ground that the latter part of the season has lacked. Allardyce sounds like a more obvious bet to me. He's available at once, but might not have the cosmopolitan appeal that Chinwatra seems to like.

McClaren brought energy and passion to the England job and look where it got him. And he's readily available 
If you need passion to get you through an international fixture, you've got it wrong.
This was McLaren's problem. He thought that if you wanted it enough, you'd get it. Even of you had just picked a shit team then utterly demoralised them with your idiotic pre-match statements.
The Doctor will pick someone who's name is well known on the international scene, anyway. Someone you could imagine riding around on a little moped, pinching girls' bums.

Seriously, who the FUCK is going to want to take the job? At least anyone who is any good? Take Jose Mourinho, he can go and earn the same amount of money at Inter/Barcelona and not have to deal with a chairman who might sack you if you achieve what he said he originally wanted.
The names bandied about are Scolari, Rikjaard, Hiddink and Bilic. Bilic is totally untested at club level, if Hiddink quits Russia he's going to Chelsea, and nowhere else, because the person who pays his wages owns Chelsea, I suppose Scolari might, but then again he turned down the England job because of a day with the media, he doesnt sound like the kind of guy who is going to take too well to a clearly mad chairman. That leaves Rikjaard, who could walk into most jobs in Europe... so why th fuck would he go to City?
So that leaves McClaren, Allardyce, possibly Curbishley... its like appointing Svens successor all over again... erm... oh yeah!

If I was more cynical, I'd be thinking that these people are deliberately getting themselves sacked in order to get their hands on the money more quickly.
It would certainly be something you'd think about on those cold mornings down the training ground.

I thought it was some sort of sit-down protest about something, but reading the reports this morning, it does sound like we simply got beaten. Losing Dunne so early would have made a big difference.
Worrying news today is that Dunne and Richards might be leaving - reports are that Man U are after Mikah 
We should still get the UEFA place, despite Dunne's red yesterday. How far we'd get with no defenders or anyone who can score goals is another question.
At least this will probably mean that SGE goes at once, rather than suffering a lengthy period as dead man walking.
