Good Times, Great Memories
They've missed off Euro 80 in Italy when the Italian Police used tear gas on the England hoolies.Ray Clemence got well fucked up by the gas.We drew that first game with Belgium and then lost by a late goal to Italy and went out.Horst Hrubesch won the tournament for the Krauts against Belgium.
1984.Still recall watching that classic semi final when France just edged past Portugal 3-2.Fantastic match.
1988, less said about that the better.Ditto 1992.
96 obviously was a great summer until the posh twat with a plum in his gob took the weakest piss poor penalty in the history of Football.
2000.Remember watching the final between France and Italy whilst on holiday in Cancun , Mexico. The TV company switched to something else when extra time started

Watching the clips of Euro 2004 reminded me how painful that tournament was.Brought back painful memories.Possiblity of going 2-0 up against France in the first game only for Beckham to miss the penalty. Then France score 2 in injury time. And the Quarter against Portugal....had long forgotten devastating that game was.
Thanks for the memories!
Some of my own memories.
Cant remember Euro 88, but can remember a bit about 92. I remember watching the Scotland v Germany game and thinking that Stefan Effenberg had a lot of the ball.
Euro 96, i was a few months shy of 13. Watched the England Scotland game at home and was wildly excited when Gazza scored. the Spain game bored me but switched back on for the penalties after playing the original Street Fighter Alpha. For the semi final I missed the first half as a few of us would alwasy go swimming on a Wednesday night, my Gran was looking after me and my brother and thought someone had broke in when we shouted when Gazza just missed the ball. Watched the final at home as well, I remember my mum buying us a Chinese Takeaway from the new shop which had just taken over one of the local chippies. Was gutted when Bierhoff scored.
Euro 2000 was great. Up there with France 98 as the greatest football tournament of all time. Missed the England Portugal game as I was revising for a Law exam the next day. now, back in those days, my dad worked on the railways and I was entitled to a free train pass. My mate Darren was living in wales at the time, and him, his brother, and two welsh lads were supposed to be coming up to stay at my dads house and basically watch the match and get obliterated. At 8pm, he finally rings and says the car has broke down and isnt ocming up. I announce (not ask) that I am going down there. So at 9pm on a Friday night, this sixteen year old travelled all the way down to Bangor to get pissed with his mates. The next say, we just drank and drank and drank and drank, i did a yard of ale, which was apparently super skol, and downed two pints in a row, I then fell asleep in the bath, woke up and then carried on drinking. I've never had such a bad hangover. Fucking chaos. It was fucking boiling as well, and I was in no state to come back to Manchester. Somehow, managed to convince my mum that I had been at my dads all weekend and had been to college on the Monday. Fucking great times.
Euro 2004. Or the Summer of No worries. Watched England v France at my mates flat. England v Switzerland and England v Croatia in Brannigans in Stockport with all my mates from work. I never thought Brannigans could be fun, but they had great beer prices and a good atmosphere for once. We got let out from work early and just got shitfaced. Englanfd v Portugal I watched with Digi Mike in the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on one of the big screens. Apparently more people tere than at the ground. Amazing night, tense as fuck game, and when lampard scored by fuck did that field go mental. Penalties was a downer, byt some bloke next to me said "oh well, lets go get pissed"... and thats what I did...
