Pretty solid choice really.

4-3-3 expert too, so will fit Chelski's current personnel nicely (er, if any of them are there next season, can't see him suffering some of the 'bigger' personalities.)

3 of Portugal's back 4 today were Chelski too. He'd be fcuking stooopid to persist with Paula Ferreira though!

interesting appointment - not been a club manager for over 6 years and not managed a (top) european club.

Yes, but I imagine he has been courted by a few. More interesting will be how he handles the British press, and how they handle him, I suspect. Good luck to the fella, he will need it.

He bottled the England job because of the press didn't he?

Think he woke up one morning to find them in his garden in Portugal. Damn shame really, cos if he had taken it on, i think we'd be watching him strutting around Team England right now.

Is 'bottled it' really the right phrase?

Got the impression he told them to shove it. And we have our wonderful press to thank for that. The cnuts.
