Dont know about Charlton,
West Hams entire squad are up for sale apparently,to reduce the wage bill,as for Portsmouth theyve just sold Diarra for £20M to R Madrid and im sure i read they reckon they'll get about £15M for Defoe (i think its him),that ££ should go some way to keeping the wolves from their door.
The thing is, if Portsmouth sell their best players who is going to replace them? They have an inexperienced manager, and no particualar strength in depth. The Russian guy (forget his name) is looking to sell, but who is going to buy a club in the championship with no good players and a huge wage bill?
Saying that, I'd be quite sad if Portsmouth went under. If only because I wouldnt get to hear wierd stories from Gary anymore...
Then again, £15 Million for Defoe? Surely the best piece of transfer business since Fergie got £5.5 Million for Kieran Richardson. Bet Defoe cant wait to sit on the Spurs bench again!
As for West Ham. Heard that the guy who runs it has two months to sell up or he's declared insolvent. Dont know where that leaves the club exactly. Apparently Lucas Neill can go on a free just to get him off the wage bill.

I'll never forget 2003. Chris fucking Marsden leading the team out in the Cup Final, only a few years after being seeminly incapable of kicking a ball straight for us.
I think the alarm bells will really start to ring when the season ticket sales don't materialise. Don't know the budgets of the various clubs but there's bound to be one reliant on season tickets for a significant portion.
Chris Marsden, a very talented footballer whose career was ruined by injury. Great to watch for Huddersfield Town (who I don't support) in the early 90's.
was watching bbc parliament , ant rhe committee people there reckon there's at least 20 clubs apart from the obvious ones (b/mouth, cardiff, etc) woh'll go under this year.
end of the day , english (and scottish) football has the most clubs ever, a pyramid of at least 8 recognisable leagues, this is unheard of in europe , where most countries go part time/ regional after division 2.
so there is a paradox, do we let these "cornerstones of the community" go bust , or let Del-Boy chancers take government money to fund their lavish lifestyles.
