Story

Bernard Sumner: "We wrote it in Ibiza after a night out at Amnesia. We decided to do a Donna Summer type erotic vocal. And the next day it got laughed out of the studio because it didn't sound erotic at all, it sounded like I was stuck on the toilet with constipation. I think the vocal might be on that Steve Silk Hurley mix..."

Steve Morris: "We finished the record off in Bath, and the reason why it's called Fine Time was because my car had been towed away and I had to remind myself to go and pay the fine. I just wrote "Fine Time" on this piece of paper to remind myself to go get it and thought, that's a good title."
