A GREAT HOMAGE FROM A FAN
In conjuncture with NewOrderOnline's birthday party, here is certainly one of the sweetest messages from a true dedicated fan that we ever received:

Hey guys, I have been dropping in on your site for several years now, pretty much sense you started (I forget when exactly, but a while back!) and just want to say that I am really proud of you guys.
I have watched you grow and expand and notice all the little things. I love for instance how I can go to a song discography and get the lyrics and see exactly what other albums the song is on, in some cases several different CDs. I just love the layout now, and GOD BLESS your multimedia section.
I have been a fan of New Order since 1985, when I was also turned onto Joy Division through them. New Order turned me on to Joy Division and at first Joy Division was a bit too rough for me. I was genuinely frightened when I played my first Joy Division purchase, a 3 LP bootleg of some live shows. Crazy, eh, the first JD I bought was this bootleg cause it was all the store had. I mean, listening to Unknown Pleasures would have been quite enough to blow my mind at the time, but to start with Joy Division by hearing them live just scared the shit out of me. You see, I came from a totally new wave background, into pretty standard europop in 1984, and turned onto New Order through Thieves Like Us on college radio and then eventually bought the whole catalog, loving EVERY song. And so, New Order led me to Joy Division and then opened my mind to harsher forms of music. Soon I was going to Sonic Youth gigs, etc.
Anyway, most likely more than you need to know, but suffice to say I am a hardcore New Order and Factory Records fan, and been online since 1993 and on the newsgroups since they started as well.
I just wanted to drop you a few lines (well as typical for me they have turned into 100) -- wanted to tell you how much I truly appreciate you managing this site and keeping it current and giving me the best place I could ever dream of going to for EVERYTHING New Order. I mean, back in 1988 when I was trekking to NYC and Boston and such to find any JD or NO that I could, finding odd record shops in basements and getting shivers up my spine if I ever laid my hands on a rarity, or a bootleg I hadn't yet heard, THIS WEBSITE would have truly been heaven. I have for instance been able to hear tons of music I had never been able to get, despite a decade of searching.... your multimedia section totally rules and is something a fan could only have dreamed of even 5 years ago. And your news is always current and dependable.
I just really can't say enough. I have been lurking around your site for so long now, and benefiting from all its hidden treasures, and have never written to you guys, and figured it was the least I could do.
Keep on keeping on!!!!!! You guys are wonderful, and I totally appreciate what you are doing.
