Ian Curtis Archive Comes to New York This Summer
Ian Curtis's personal archive is heading to New York for the first time, with an exhibition at Voltz Clarke Gallery running through July. The show arrives as both Joy Division and New Order prepare to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame together in November—a combined induction reflecting Curtis's lasting influence on the band that continued after his death in 1980. Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook have frequently acknowledged Curtis's centrality to Joy Division's legacy, and last month Hook dedicated the Hall of Fame honour to the late singer.
