9/11 two years later

Well, it's the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on NYC, which means the networks and cable news will be show footage of the planes hitting the Towers and their subsequent collapse ad nauseum. I still find it painful to see whenever any show comes on talking about the attacks, something about that image being replayed doesn't sit right with me.

I guess, seeing as a lot of us "old-timers" reminisced about "where we were" on the first anniversary (I was in my history class, I thought the teacher was trying to illustrate a point about "historic events as news story" for some stupid project, etc), Why don't we let the newbies (anyone who started here anytime after last September) share their stories. Seems fitting, really.

Anyway, as always my thoughts are to the families who, when you take away all the flag-waving uber-patriotic displays of bravado, are left with their memories of loved ones and the pain of those absences, even two years after the fact. Let's hope the anniversary never becomes just another holiday...

well nothing much happened down here(i work about half a block from ground Zero) saw a few helicopters and some of the streets were closed off. last year it seemed more people were still very touched by it, but yesterday after the moments of silence and what not people just went about a normal day i dont know if thats good or bad.

You have to carry on, have to keep on living, but I think the networks could've taken more time to reflect on the even, rather than show fucking soap operas. I guess they figured the cable news outlets would do that for them. After all, J.Lo gets married once every two years, you think they could suspend the celebrity gossip shit for one day.
