The last time we did this was 6 months ago (believe me, it was), therefore it's time to ask that question again: what have you been listening to lately?

These are my current favorite albums:

The Dandy Warhols – Welcome To The Monkey House Kraftwerk – Tour de France Soundtracks (and also everything they made from 1974 onwards, plus bootlegs and Elektric Music's first album). The Libertines – Up The Bracket The Raveonettes – Chain Gang Of Love

also: Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden JD - UP (i just bought an spanish vinyl)

All these NO bootlegs plus 316 and 511 and Community. was cranking WIM while cruising through downtown this eve on my way home. Sure, crap song but it got the Jag a few more looks.

awesome almanso ....you know how much i love talk talk. i will soon listen to Laughing Stock and the Mark Hollis solo album. there´re some great comments about them. can´t wait.

Never have cared for the Dandys much myself, especially since I saw Courtney trying hard not to be recognized by Art Alexaxis at a club :rolleyes: but it certainly is a good time for one of these lists.

Wild Tchoupitoulas album (Neville Bros. off shoot album of New Orleans funk and soul)

Total Lee! (album on Astralwerks, tribute to Lee Hazelwood)

Bob Dylan-Blood On The Tracks (bought the SACD version)

Three Johns-Never And Always 45 (a fuckin' classic)

New Order-Oakland 85 (thanks again to Solitude :clap: )

I think you should give your neighbours another chance, Allan. Well, at least on a global scale, the Dandys are your neighbours. Their last album is far better than anything they've ever done, I myself have never been a fan until "Monkey House".

By the way, am I the only one here not currently listening to JD/NO? Shame on me! Wait, I just remembered that I listened to "Out Of Order" (that German bootleg) once this week. Does that count?

mark's solo project is gorgeous. so low key and subtle.

Just back from a lot of shopping today, so in addition to the above stuff, I bought Ian Brown's Under The Influence, a Select Cuts compilation of punky dub stuff, like the Ruts, Clash, Basement 5, Stiff Little Fingers, Pop Group, etc), and Don Lett's selection of crucial Trojan Records hits. Also New Order's Academy boot DVD, Cabaret Voltaire's live at the Hacienda DVD and that Dave Thompson guide to records by The Fall, which drew approving praise from the Brit behind the counter at Powell's.

Well...been downloading some songs suggested by a friend at work...so I've been listening to Tomcraft...Benny Benassi...ATB....4 Strings...Lasgo...

along with the usual NO...and I've popped in Smash the System and ACR "early" a couple of times this week...

tickets to go see the darkness (i know, but i think they are funny - they do a hilarious version of street spirit) frank black (when is that pixies reunion tour??) blur the strokes & martina topley-bird

undecided whether to go see the ravonettes though

big shout to the topley bird - its a great albm (she was on maxinquaye & the follow up, tricky has produced a couple of songs on the album, david holmes helped out too - its fantastic, she has a great voice & its a tiny little venue so should be great.

Playing Blonde On Blonde loads recently, I do believe it was Visions Of Johanna that is your favourite song Green Guy? costhat songs been on Heavy rotation along with Desolation Row, BTW what's the SACD version like....is it a LOT clearer? I cannae afford to start buying all these new improved formats, espescially with the amount of Dylan albums I have!!! Other than that it's the usual NO / Electronic stuff, and cheers to Rocket Baldy for all the Electronic stuff I have received, I got yer Get Message ShugZV today, I will play it when I get back up to the flat :beer:

Highly recommend The Muttonbirds - purchased the best of while in NZ, and it's quality - track down "She's been talking" or "Pulled along by love" if anyone is so inclined CTB :bear:

Exam period at my university is finally over so I can sit back and relax while listening to music and visiting NOOL! I really like the new records by The Dandy Warhols, Ska-P , Jane's Addiction, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Cardigans and Stereolab. Aslo The Pixies' Bossa Nova... an all time classic

Yep, Visions is one of my very big faves, along with Love Minus Zero, She Belongs To Me, and Idiot Wind. The SACD version does sound really nice, but I'd only had the vinyl version before. Don't think it cost more than the regular version, at least where I bought it. I also can't afford to replace everything with the latest version, so I went with spmething I didn't have in my collection.

Blonde on Blonde is probably my favorite Dylan album (out of the three I have :blush: ), what's this SACD you're talking about? I've seen some "enhanced CDs" at places like Circuit City, but you have to have a special (and expensive) CD player to enjoy them...and I ain't got the money, and most of the CDs tend to be Blue Oyster Cult albums for some reason, so no buy on my part :D

I don't have any special equipment or player for the Super Audio CD, I just play 'em on my regular stereo, and they sound great. I did buy mine at the Beast, aka Best Buy, last Tuesday.

True story: when buying that Dylan CD, along with the Chemical Brothers new 2cd set and Chinatown on DVD, I saw that The Kids Are Alright was also out on DVD, for 20 dollars. I placed all of the products on the counter, the clerk deactivated the security tags, and I thought she scanned all of the items. Total price for all of the above items: 35 dollars, the Who package did not ring up on the register somehow or show up on the receipt :nuts: . :lol:

Is that out now? Jeez, between that and the new B&S album I should be out of money before the week's over.

New: Kings of Leon Great, raw voice and great tunes The Strokes - Room on fire Similar sounding to Is this it, pretty solid but not the same level of song writing

Old: Human League - Dare Tears for Fears - The hurting I'd forgotten the number of awesome tracks on these 2 albums - classic.
