the Bhoys have climbed atop the table in the SPL by handing the Rangers a shutout at the Death Star, as I believe ShugzV calls Ibrox...here's part of the story...

GLASGOW (Reuters) - Celtic shattered the 100 percent record of champions Rangers in the Scottish premier league this season after they beat their Glasgow rivals 1-0 at Ibrox to go top of the table.

Celtic's goal came less than 20 seconds into the second half on Saturday when striker John Hartson's effort was deflected into the net by Rangers' Georgian defender Zurab Khizanishvili.

Rangers had won all seven of their previous premier league games this season but Celtic's win lifted them a point clear of the champions on 22 points after eight games. Third-placed Hearts, on 13 points, were due to play host to Dundee later on Saturday.

Martin O'Neill's side fully deserved their victory in a scrappy first Old Firm encounter of the season with Alan Thompson, Henrik Larsson and Hartson all going close to scoring further goals for the visitors.

Celtic's third successive win against Rangers and their fourth at Ibrox in six visits was achieved despite having several defenders injured or suspended.

Chris Sutton reverted from attack to defence and was outstanding alongside Stanislav Varga as Celtic defended manfully to keep Rangers, who lacked imagination in the vital areas, out in the second half.

Rangers had complained about the timing of the match after Wednesday's 1-1 Champions League draw with Panathinaikos in Greece

That's some good news to come home to, though it's early days yet. Makes today even sweeter, cause I also picked up that Academy DVD in PDX. :)

Hungover all right, but happy as fuck:beer:

Watched the game with the missus at the flat, tied a Celtic scarf around the window so all passers by could see the Green White and Gold, then sat down with a few cans of Carlsberg Export to watch the Bhoys destroy the forces of ultimate darkness at DEATH STAR (well remembered Brother Jeff!) The Huns passed the ball well for the first 20 minutes, but to be truthful, they didn't threaten us once, and Headman didn't have a save to make throughout the game, we had 3 or 4 decent chances so it really could have been 3-0. Another solid performance from the Bhoys, highlight of the game was the Celtic supporters singing "WE CAN SEE YOU SNEAKING OUT" to the horrible hordes 10 minutes before the end of the game, then quickly following up that with the "GO HOME YA HUNS" song:lol: I must also mention that I was lucky enough to be at the Lyon game on Tuesday night, our first home game in the Champions League, Lyon played great in the first half, again, without really troubling us too much, but the second half was probably the finest second half performance I have seen Celtic play in Europe! Celtic just totally dominated and had several chances, MON brought on young Liam Miller for Big John Hartson, and the game changed totally with Miller getting on the end of a 26 pass move! We went absolutely mental, and had some guy on top of us who was 4 rows back from us:lol: Then Henrik held up a throw in from Sutton, bamboozled 2 French defenders and drifted a ball onto the onrushing Sutton's head for the "Killer" goal. What a week for Celtic, back where we belong on TOP of the League, and looking good for progress into the KO stages of the Champions League, it's a hard life being a TIM:D

Jeff / Allan / Brian I am hoping to get the Celtic cassette off of Baldrick tomorrow, so there will be a copy for each of you soon:thumb:
