Morrissey - "Vauxhall and I"

Bought this yesterday, 4 quid. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN. Cannot get over how magical this album is. Heart warming and breaking at the very same time.

as far as morressey goes this is probably my number 2 pick, falling right behind "viva hate," with all of it's really good v. reily guitar.

It's a truly great album, my favourite by Moz (ahead of Viva Hate in second and Your Arsenal in third). The fact that it's four squid in the HMV sale really means that nobody has an excuse not to own it. Unless you're not in this country, of course, in which case I might let you off.

Excellent record. Speedway is an absolute classic. Unfortunately things went downhill for Mozzer soon after...

I saw Morrissey at Drury Lane for the Vauxhall Tour and i thought the live versions of the songs from that album were spectacular. I couldn't care less about him now but i do admit to checking morrissey-solo.com on a regular basis just to find out about those recently unearthed Smiths tapes. Sometimes Mr. Shankley's site has some sweet downloads. I would rate Vauxhall & I right after the phenomenal VIVA HATE, then Your Arsenal. B-sides The Loop and Jack the Ripper were outstanding though.

Viva Hate! Such an excellent album! Then Vauxhall and I and then the odd song (might I be the only person who likes Alma (sic)Mater?)

BTW has he got a contract these days?

Vauxhall and I is a great album, and that and Viva Hate are the only two albums of Moz' solo career that are worth listening to.

This album is so different from other Morrissey releases, it's so quiet, soft and gentle, a great album.

I loved Morrissey live, but can't listen to more than 3 or 4 songs of his in a row

the cool thing about this album is the semi-shoegaze texture that it has. it almost sounds like if moz and simon from C.T. got together...
