what would be the point of that? The OS may be a big part of what we love about Macs, but the hardware is just as important to us! Apple has been setting hardware trends ever since the company started, inside and outside the computer!

You mean Motorola right? I don't think Apple has much to do with the hardware itself, Motorola does the chips and then Mac does the rest, but still.. it could be Intel, it wouldn't change much..
I can't state much, I studied the Motorola 68k at the university, but I don't know much about the rest of the Mac, altough the SCSI bus was faster, but now the IDE is getting closer.
Anyways, as long as everyone is happy with his toys, that's all that counts :D
