Is anyone else seeing Echo & the Bunnymen on their current tour? I'll be at the Fillmore show in San Francisco.

I might've, if they'd come anywhere close this time, but I've seen 'em three times already, so let's hear how the current incarnation does, please.

Will they be in Minneapolis, Chigao or Kansas City on this tour? I can't afford to fly to see them but would be willing to drive.

Yep, I'm going to see the Bunnymen next week here in São Paulo. I interviewed Ian McCulloch a couple of months ago and he said they will play unusual stuff, songs from "Heaven Up Here" like "Show Of Strenght", "With A Hip" and "All I Want". I'm really looking forward to this gig.

Hopefully I'll be creadentialed as a photographer and I'll be able to post a few pictures here. Just don't tell my editor that! ;)

In San Francisco they played songs from almost every album. I don't have the setlist but glancing at their CD's will jog my memory.

Crocodiles, Show of Strength, Over the Wall, All My Colours, The Cutter, Back of Love, Heads Will Roll, Silver, The Killing Moon, Seven Seas, Ocean Rain, Bring on the Dancing Horses, Bedbugs and Ballyhoo, Lips Like Sugar, Nothing Lasts Forever/Walk on the Wild Side, Rust...

I don't think they played anything from Flowers. The Show opened with Show of Strength and the highlight for me was The Cutter. The Cutter is always great to hear but this rendition was especially powerful.

I got really angry last year cause they didn't play The Game(my favorite) last year at Finsbury Park. :mad2:

Haven't heard 'em play that since about 1987/8 ! CD of the Old Trafford set is available, as are hundreds of others (including ones with The Game on).

I went yesterday to the Bunnymen concert here in my hometown. As soon as I arrived at the venue I spotted Wayne Hussey (and his beautiful Brazilian wife) walking anonymously around the place. Much to my surprise, the venue wasn't very full. That was the third Bunnymen concert in four years in São Paulo, perhaps this could explain the lack of interest in this gig.

That was a good concert, however nowadays the Bunnymen are only half, or even less than half, of what they used to be. Pete and Les are unreplaceable and Ian can't sing like the old days anymore, tobacco and alcohol destroyed his voice. For me, the highlights were "Killing Moon", "Rescue" and "The Cutter", where surprisingly Ian's voice was magnificent.

Here's the complete setlist, filled almost entirely with classics. :)

  1. Show Of Strenght

  2. Rescue

  3. Silver

  4. Seven Seas

  5. The Game

  6. Rust

  7. Crocodiles

  8. Bring On The Dancing Horses

  9. Bedbugs And Ballyhoo

  10. Back Of Love

  11. The Killing Moon

  12. The Cutter

  13. All My Colours

  14. I'll Fly Tonight

  15. Over The Wall

  16. Do It Clean / Sex Machine / Roadhouse Blues

  17. Nothing Lasts Forever / Walk On The Wild Side

  18. Lips Like Sugar

  19. Heads Will Roll

  20. Ocean Rain

As promised, some pictures I took.

Very nice pics Ricardo, and also thanks for the concert review. Glad to see they played a couple of my faves from Heaven Up Here, which is my fave Bunnymen album.

Dynamite magazine. This "work" is more a hobby than anything else.

Oh, there is a review of the gig here (only in Portuguese, sorry).

Same set as the rest of the tour, but with Do It Clean restored. Note the relative lack of newer songs !
