Fair play to the Aussies, a terrific performance in knocking out the favourites New Zealand, got their tactics spot on and bamboozled the All Blacks. Tomorrow's game should be a cracker as well, England v France.

So a France v Australia final next week then:D

I actually hope the Aussies win - I am sick to the back teeth of the arrogance of this English RFU and their apparent divine right to this trophy. They are killing rugby, both in this country and in the world. If they were winning game after game with a dazzling show of running rugby then fair enough, but they aren't, it is all controlled game-killing, backed up with a boot-boy. You'll never hear me supporting Australia in any other sport mind !

:wtf: Traitor ...;)

What John Eales(former wallabies capt) had to say on the matter.

Despite the Australian media's obsession with "how to stop Jonny Wilkinson", Eales has dismissed criticism of England as a "boring" team as "ill-informed".

"Jonny Wilkinson won't make the difference unless his pack give him the ascendancy, and the team that wins the forwards contest will win the game," he said.

"If England win the World Cup on the back of 10 field goals, every team in the world would swap them that victory." .:p

:nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono:

the aussies are hardly shrinking violets tim! & look at their last world cup - that was a win based on defence with only the states scoring tries against them. now of course they emploty dummy runners running blocking llines, now that's killing rugby. the english are playing the game very intelligently, they have run in a huge number of tries ion the last few years & everyone says they play boring rugby? even the aussie press are lionising wilko this week after the way he totally controlled the game against the in form fly half of the competition so far!

I hope Australia win as well. Sick of the press over here and the way rugby fans are held up as good middle-class fans, who wouldn't dream of bringing disgrace to the country. If it wasn't such a daft game that only attracted interest from rozzers and toffs, then it would to have to put up with the problems that beset football and reflect society. That and the whole attitude of the collar-up, fluffy-haired, ruddy-cheeked, Queen song-singing, public shool boys rankles.

what am i then a rozzer or a toff? that is almost as outdated a view as the language you used in it! - have been to many many games & do not see "toffs" there.

maybe at the internationals you get all the corporate stuff & the barbies in the car park, but not at grass roots.

some facts i can verify - at rugby the crowd is not segregated & drink is served before, during & after the game & the crowd is able to mix sharing banter without knocking lumps out of each other the whole time.

p.s. i hate queen & i dont like the queen either.

p.s. i hate queen & i dont like the queen either. How many do you get at grass roots level? Isn't that akin to saying it hardly goes off at non-league football matches? You can get beer at a lot premiership grounds now and a lot of teams are no longer even kept behind or given an escort out of Anfield. That's not to say hooligans are no longer a problem but the traditional innercity areas that follow football are always going to be inherently more violent than the leafy suburban rugger boys. The rozzers and toffs thing is actually a quote from Boys Own. Which should show you how seriously I take all this but I do hate the Daily Mail and it's ideas on sporting fans.

we're agreed on the daily mail.

when i say grass roots i mean club level - premiership & national league 1, not local clubs

bristols av attendance last year was something like 7000, dont have exact figure, but included record crowd for league match of 25000 odd.
