Then,for me at least; the pub would offer the best solution, giving me a prime view, decent company and a convivial setting , from which I could watch the delivery of three tons of readymix concrete as it slid stealthlike over the bosses car, obviously not a soul would notice I had'nt returned to work and by the time anyone did.... well would you really care ?

I worked with someone 20-odd years ago who not only set off the fire alarm after the obligatory pub lunch, but also set off one of those powder fire extinguishers in the confined space of the tea-break room while everyone was in it. If he wasn't leaving that same day he would have been fired anyway. Way to go or what.
