CDR's.....HELP — Forum Archive

Got an Iomega CDR today - unfortunately the music files I have saved to Windows Media are not recognised, the CDR says I need WAV files.

Tim says I need a Nero CD to be able to burn my music....I cannae wait till Monday, is there any other way I can sort this out now?

Have you tried Windows Media Player to write your CDR?

There is a page HERE that tells you how to convert WMA to WAV, and gives you a link to download the software required.

*DISCLAIMER* I haven't used this software (I'm not stupid enough to save my music in WMA format ;) ) so don't blame me if it's shite.

No, I said you will need some CD burner software if you want to produce CDs - Nero is but one of the products available, albeit the best one.

Shug - download Music Match Jukebox as I suggested....not only will you be able to convert your WMA files to WAV (or even to MP3) but you will also then have the software for copying tapes to CD. Download for trial is free, costs you twenty quid to get the full edition, but it is well worth it and you get free updates.

It's doing my fucking head in!

I got a cd with the software - and I tried dropping and dragging from windows media, but it doesnae recognise my files.

I have copied forbidden city to a CDRW - but it doesn't recognise this on my record player....but it does on the computer :cry:

I will try a couple of the above and get back to you's shortly.

Well if you're trying to play a CDRW on your record player then you're clearly beyond help!!

A couple of tips for the novice:

You can't just drag and drop tracks to a CDR, you other need software (Nero, Roxio, Musicmatch or even Windows Media Player) to do that.

CDRW's won't generally play in Hi-fi equipment, only CDR's. And then only if you've used the right software to burn them correctly...

What format are your tracks in, out of interest?

I am gonna have to dive up the town and get some CDR's, which is a bit of a cunt....I've got footy in an hour or two - then the other half is round later - by this rate I should have worked out what's what about the same time we have a new album from them lazy bastards :skeptic:

Have to agree with Tim, MMJ is really good (that Warsaw CD was recorded using that).

Cool Edit pro is great audio editing software and has a 32 channel mixer , handles all music files and have a 4track studio built in.

If you want a copy let me know

Burnatonce will automatically convert for you. it is free and is not loaded with spyware of propietary Bullshit software. Million times better than Sleazy Creator.

I can copy CD to CD, but as you all have pointed out - I need that other software so I can copy my files, and save me loads of time putting in one CD then another!

I have only copied 2 CD's so far, Definitely Maybe and The Bends - cos I had these but mates borrowed them and I never got them back.....so I borrowed them off ma wee cuz Steve:D

Sooner or later I will be in full production, not sure what the title of my recording studio will be yet.....it may well be FAC 1888;)

If you're looking for a ncie & easy program to add track breaks in a long wave file, feurio is an excellent one to use.
