Thought I would pose some questions. A new one each time correct answer is received.

A young woman goes to a nudist beach from 9am in the morning until the sun goes down.

It is 100% no cloud, but when she leaves the beach, she is not burnt and has no tan.

WHY?

She didn't go nude.....

In a room, the bodies of Jack and Jill are on the floor.

The only clues are there is water and glass on the floor.

How did thet die?

They slipped and fell on the broken pieces of glass (after dropping the glass of water)

The glass is from a broken window through which an intruder entered; the water was formerly a block of ice, with which Jack and Jill were bludgeoned to death.

That's just what the government wants you to believe: "Jack and Jill fell down the hill". Yeah, right. The reality is so much deeper than you know. You've got to look inside.....see what the clues add up to. When you examine it more carefully it all becomes clear......The CIA, FBI, ex-Gestapo officers in little huts off the coast of Scotland....Gavin McLoed, Chairman Mao (Why have you never seen the two of them in the same room at the same time?)...husky Midwest waitresses, shady car salesmen....You've got a chance to bust Santa Claus's racket wide open, and you're going after the Easter Bunny! Jim Morrison speaking, but all you hear is Van Morrison...Open your eyes, there were two gunmen on the grassy knoll...Osama's selling bikes down by the Battery...Saddam's just a patsy for American oil interests....Roswell, New Mexico, isn't really there, is it? Didn't think so!

It's daytime, so they are both very visible to one another.

If YOU drive a bus with 15 passengers on to Bus stop 1 where you pick up a further 2 passengers, then drive to bus stop 2 where you drop of 5 and pick up 3. Then drive several miles to bus stop 3 where you drop of 2, the finally drive to the bus station. What is the drivers name?

This is one I got out of a science magazine while waiting for a haircut (so I can't claim authorship for it :D )

Two women apply for the same job at a company, and when you read their applications you're stunned. They have the same last name, birthday, place of birth, parents, and residence, and they look exactly like one another. You decide to call them into your office and ask them if they're twins. When you do, they both respond, "No, we are not twins."

So, how come they have so much in common?

They have a triplet or quadruplet sibling ?

Correct, they're a set of triplets! (That's what the magazine had, though it's also concievable there are even more hanging around who were born at the same time) :thumb:

I knew that, but to be honest I had heard it before , nice one

10 doctors are at a party, they all drink punch, one doctor is beeped for an emergency, when he comes back, everybody's dead.. how come?

Oh, and here's another one...

There is a room ahead of you with a closed door, on the wall you have 3 switches, in the room there is a lightbulb, you must find out which switch is opening the light, and you can only open the door once.

How do you do it?

:evil4:

Leave the door open as you try all the switches.

Uh, would be a good idea yes, but for the record, you can't do that.. ;)

(I missed something in my story!)

Look through the keyhole/under the door/through the glass in the door(!) as you try each switch?

Ask whoeever is in the room to shout out when the light comes on?

Say "to hell with this!" and go down to the nearby bar to get pissed? :D

how do you open a light anyway?

is it the one with the label that says light switch by it?

No, actually it's quite simple.

  1. Open the first switch, wait 5 mins.
  2. Close the first swith
  3. Open the 2nd switch
  4. Go into the room, look which light is opened, it's #2
  5. Touch the other bulbs, find the one who is hot, that's #1
  6. #3 is then the other one...

As easy as that :evil4:

The ice cubes are poisoned, the emergency doctor drinks up,at this point the ice has not melted .Later on his return, his fellows are dead, the ice having melted thus releasing the deadly toxin.

A guy is kidnapped and knocked out. He wakes up some time later in a locked room with just a bed & sink with no way of escape or seeing the outside world. He knows however that he's been taken to either Sydney or New York, one of which will give him hope of rescue. How can he determine which city he's in?

No, sorry, should have added he's got no contact with any other people.

The guy fills the sink with water. In the Northern hemisphere the water will turn clockwise, while in the Southern hemisphere the water will flow counterclockwise. New York is in the Northern Hemisphere and Sydney is in the Southern Hemisphere. Looking the direction of the water draining from the sink he knows where he is.

It's caled the Coriolis Force. Not quite an accurate belief that sink water spins in opposite directions north and south of the equator, not quite inaccurate.

Has anyone even watched the water spin down the drain? It just seems to go down, and that's it.

I tried that test in my sink years ago, and it didn't seem to go in one particular direction, so I put it down to having a dodgy sink! Anyway, Tristan said it was confirmed in a Simpsons episode, and I've just remembered it featured in an X-Files episode also, so I'm not gonna argue! :alien:

Not quite accurate ,not quite innaccurate

Is this a lateral thinkin question ?

Okay, spoiling my own answer I've found an article in a scientific magazine saying that the Coriolis effect is too weak to be dominant in a sink. :(

By bizarre coincidence last week I was watching a repeat of an episode of Pole to Pole (series where Michael Palin travels from Pole to, erm Pole) and he had reached the equator.

They had a bloke there who everyday gave a little demonstration of this with a funnel and some water. He goes about 20 feet north of the equator and pours the water down the funnel, it flows one way, then he goes back and crosses the equator south to a similar distance and does the same. It flows the other way. The effect gets stronger the further you get from the equator so by the time you reach Sydney/New York it should be pretty obvious. Mind you, if you were a spanner like me I wouldn't remember which way was which, so it wouldn't be much help!

Don't you just love science?
