On the DVd commentary for "Waltz", I believe Robbie Robertson also wonders what Van was doing in a sequined lavendar jumpsuit...really about the only answer possible is "it was the Seventies"

Is Westway to the World worth picking up? I'm a big Clash fan, but I've not got 'round to seeing it yet. I may rent it from the video shop one of these days, along with Rude Boy.

Hell yes, this is an excellent documentary about the band. It's been a while since I watched it last (simply because by the time "White Riot" pops on the screen I want to put the first album in my CD changer and play it full blast ), but it's definitely worth seeing. I'd say the Pistols "Filth and the Fury" is overall the better film of the two, but Westway is excellent as well.

Both Westway and Filth and fury are worth a punt, there are a couple of Johnny Thunders/Heartbreakers discs available, I think they're pretty good , but I dont think they would suit the casual fan, if you know the guys work you'll know what I mean, pretty much of its time.

For any Who fans on the board (all one of me :p ) The Kids Are Alright Special Edition is a MUST. Full-length original theatrical release, 5.1 audio (though, as with 511, it's unbearable for my TV, so I got to watch it in stereo ), and the best part is the full version of "A Quick One While He's Away" from the Rolling Stones' 'Rock and Roll Circus'

No, the video version of TKAA had an edited cut of the "RnR Circus" footage (starts up right around the end of the "soon be home" part of the song) which is restored in the DVD (and according to the commentary, was included in full in the theatrical release). That's what made it a keeper for me (besides the fact that it's the greatest rock and roll film EVER....)

I've never seen "The Kids Are Alright". I have this DVD called "The Who - Who's Better, Who's Best", which is a compilation of videos; bought it for an amazing price (R$9.00, something like US$3.00), and it's 5.1 sound. There's plenty of these selling here in Brazil, I guess they're Region 0.

Some months ago "Tommy" was shown on a film festival here in Rio de Janeiro, in a huge classic cinema. Sadly it was an old copy, but the experience of watching on a big screen was worthy.
