It's taken me all day long (ha ha) to decipher Mike's logic here, but I think he means that as United weren't league champions the season before, they shouldn't have been allowed to enter the Champions' League. He maybe hasa point, but that's another matter. He rather invalidates it though by showing his lack of football history knowledge by "(European Cups, when it was CHAMPIONS league)" though. It was never a league, or even a series of mini-leagues, when only Champions were eligible.

West Brom in the Champions League ? More chance of those cunts from Kidderminster getting in there.
