Is it just me, but would it sound cool as shit if Rammstein were to do a NO/JD cover or two...they already did a really fantastic depeche mode cover with some degree of success.

Sorry for the DM reference but it had to be done...please don't :ban: me!!

i agree, Rammstein has put out some incredible tracks but which NO song would they be best suited to cover? I think they'd do a great version of EGG...

Is it best to choose a song you hate and hope they improve it or one you love and hope they dont ?

not trolling for a fight here but rammstein should leave NO well alone.

yes.

i like rammstein as well, but the cover of depeche mode sucks. sounds like eddy munster is singing. till and rammstein need to do things, 1. stick to singing in german and 2. stay the hell away from new order songs.

Who the fuck are Rammstein ?

german rock band that is pretty much metal with industrial elements to them. a friend says they are essentially a rip of of industrial band laibach. went out and got some laibach and she was right, rammstein is a laibach rip off.

Maybe This Time of Night, but the thought of those goons butchering a classic for the rest of us is too much to bear.

Trent Reznors bastard spawn.

I've heard Jonathon ross raving about them and consequently heard a few of their songs. They sound pretty good. Maybe they should cover Sunrise or Primitive Notion, for some good hard heavy New Order rock. What was the DM track they covered? I'd like to hear that. Sir Chunks - don't apologise for mentioning DM. Anyone who doesn't like them is lacking in sense and taste.

I didn't even know Rammy was still around, there's so little of them on MTV nowadays :p

Rammstein are alright, they've never been my cup of tea exactly but I wouldn't rule out a NO cover. Maybe something like EGG or (going back to JD) Decades, perhaps?

Agreed. Dumb deutchers should leave the classics alone. New Order's had enough with Nazi imagery.

Rammstein are busy recording a new album as we speak

I think they could do wonders to EGG or even SHADOWPLAY

I always though Shadopwlay could do with a bit more energy on the guitar like the JD live versions always showed

best Rammstein cover so far had been The Model

I'd like to see Britney Spears do a whole album of NewOrder covers. Not Joy Division though, they're shit.

Stop! You're giving me shivers! She'd be so good, I can't contain myself What do I get out of this I always try, I always miss One of these days you'll go back to your home You won't even notice that you are alone One of these days when you sit by yourself You'll realise you can't shaft without someone else In the end you will submit It's got to hurt you a little bit

Too bad Barney has just as good of a voice as the blond tart. I could see Britney doing a Subculture music video. :evil4:

Can we stop talking about Britney/Subculture,a blonde singing about shafting is very distracting!:D

Sumner can only dream of having as good a voice as Britneys. She'll have better studio wizards than New Order, for a start!

She is great, though, could really kick some life into a lifeless band who are obsessed with past achievements & pointless side projects. A Ms. Spears NO covers album could do a million times more good for the lads & their fanbase than '24 Hour Party People' ever could

OK then think about her in a pulsating BLT cover music video. Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray ;)

Come on - Britney Spears covering NO? Heck, she can't even sing live because of all the stuff done to her voice in the studio. At least Barney's had his live moments. Actually, I'd like to see Pet Sho Boys cover some NO, maybe a few songs from Technique or Low Life, or the reverse, having NO cover PSB, such as Domino Dancing. I wonder what that video would look like?

PSB have been too busy covering the Village People and Wille Nelson in their career.

While New Order have been too busy ripping off John Denver... :D

Who cares it Britney can't sing live? I'm asking for an over-produced NO covers album, not some drizzly tribute gig held in a muddy bog somewhere in Dumpchester
