That it's been twenty years since Andy Kaufman (supposedly) died of a rare lung cancer

No, really he did...or did he? ;)

Anyway, any fellow Kaufmaniacs here? I think we should mark the anniversary of his "passing" (May 16, 1984...yes, I have that much time on my hands) somehow. Don't look at me, though: I started it, but I can't finish the thought. Estoy cansado, y muy sueno. Thus, I'll log off now.

Anyway

The man was a genius! Turning his own life into an elaborate long-term avant-garde comedy routine was amazing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was still alive, but you'd think someone would spot him.

Never watched Taxi, but I do remember him from SNL, and that skit from the show Fridays as seen in the movie Man On The Moon, and I can recall being both baffled and laughing at his approach to comedy. Never got into the wrestling bit at all, working at a pro event in our town, and watching the oddballs that were in the audience was enough to dissuade me from even considering wrestling light comedy.
