That is obvious Frank, but unfortunately, money is in the US, not Canada...

So we have to have Phoenix, Anaheim, Tampa Bay, Florida & Carolina...

Gee, it's never snowing there.. how the hell can you have an audience when they never had the chance to play outdoor hockey!!

Would be more logical to have teams in Europe rather than in those locations IMHO, especially Moscow, Helsinki, Prague & Stockholm...

People in Southern CA play roller hockey. :evil4:

Which probably each and every canadian man has done :D

And street hockey of course ;)

Unfortunately I stopped playing hockey at 9 or 10 years old and switch to skiing, but still.. I did play ;)

uhm...Nicos...we never had a chance to play outdoor hockey here...but I was a fan long before the Stars came to town...the Dallas Black Hawks provided years of entertainment before they folded while I was in high school...

plus you have to remember...there are a lot of northerners who have moved to the south...so I'm sure they are happy to have the NHL in these towns that their jobs have made them move to...hell, the ex-wife is marrying a lad from upstate New York next week...oh well...I guess I could wear my Oilers sweater to the wedding!!!

It's been a while since the Flames lost a game on the road...

Way to go Tampa, they said they would play harder and they did. I'm not worried yet. I new this would go 6 or 7 games. We took one on the road, thats what is important. And the Flames have responded well after a loss. I'm looking forward to te next game.

I'm even watching it in the background...!

One thing though, it's the last time I'm saying Vincent Lecavalier was a bust :nono:

Hey Seb, you were right. Look at my pic, Its our PM with the jersey on! And in my paper today it has a pic of Harper with a jersey on. So that makes 2 of the 4 parties. Lets see if the Quebec qua will sell out Qubebec and put one on

I'm going to see "The day after tomorrow" tonight so I will miss the game, make sure you watch it for me ok!

Hahaha, I knew it!

Martin and Harper are a bunch of sell-outs !!!!!

If it weren't for the Bloc Québécois, I'd be voting for Jack Layton'S NDP by the way... which I guess not too many people will do in Alberta for obvious reasons (oil).

Jack Layton is actually borned and raised in Montreal...

Nah, just checked and I'm right.. he lived in Hudson, the city in front of Oka...

PP goal for Calgary? :jawdrop:

2-0

Calgary won, and I bet TB will win the next; I could easily see this series going to 7.

do the announcers for ABC really think we are a bunch of morons??? With the score at 2-0, and being displayed in the corner of the screen during the entire telecast...they have the nerve to tell our table of hockey fans this little nugget...

"Tampa Bay hasn't scored a power play goal tonight, as a matter of fact, they haven't scored any goals tonight"

Really...is that what that 0 by their name meant??? I didn't have a fooking clue!!! Thanks guys...

more notes from tonight's game...

All those people wearing red sure do look like empty seats in the background...

Did anybody else see the three people wearing cowboy hats? I just thought that looked odd at a hockey match.

Pengrowth Saddledome??? Why does evey arena have to have a corporate logo attached to it? I loved the game much more when we had the Olympic Saddledome...Maple Leaf Gardens, Chicago Stadium, The Forum, Le Colisee, you get the idea??? What is Pengrowth anyway? Is that something found in the cattle stalls at the Stampede???

And why did ABC feel it necessary to show that poor guy getting his face plastered into the dasherboards no less than 3 times after it happened??? I saw it the first time...I didn't need to see it in super slow mo????

that's my 2 cents worth for the evening...

oh...and by the way...congratulations to the Flames...they looked very good tonight...now keep it up, and get the Cup back to Canada...where it belongs!!!

Pengrowth is an oil related company in Alberta (I should know, I have shares!!). As for Cowboy hats, it's not uncommon in Calgary....

You many consider Calgary as Dallas-North ;)

thank you for the info on Pengrowth...

and I know Calgary has a rich western tradition...but I don't recall ever seeing a cowboy hat at a Stars match...that's why it just seemed a wee bit odd to me...

reckon I should take one on my next visit to Eng-er-land???

and did anyone else catch the fact that Calgary has a player who was born in Recife, Brazil????:eek3:

2 down and 2 to go!!! I still cant believe we are 2 wins away from the holly grail

Does ABC still use the glow in the dark puck and the red line to show were the puck moved? We still make fun of that.

As for Calgary, Yes we are a very western city. And we use western themes for everything. And yes we are sometimes called Dallas north because we are rich in oil and are cities do look similar. We are also sometimes called Nashville North. Every year we have a festival called the Stampede dubbed "The greatest outdoor show on earth" And yes I do own a cowboy hat. And Yes we have some yahoo's who wear their hats all year round (Like you saw) And all the red you were seeing were $110.00 jerseys. Not like the Flyers who were giving away $2.00 cheap Orange shirts, that just made the color of the stadium look unbearable to watch. And the seats in the saddledome are green and blue. Because they are suppose to help the players eyes during practice. I miss the Olympic Saddledome as well. But Pengrowth is better then The Canadian Airlines saddledome. Well that's my Calgary lesson for today.

I will look at NDP this year because our Labor laws suck, but I don't think it will madder. So I might try Liberal for the first time in my life.

And "The day after tomorrow" was great. Canada and the UK don't fare to well. We die first :( I hope New Order were on tour when it happen :D And the SStanley Cup is frozen in Calgary

Well boys lets keep cheering for Canada's team Go Flames Go

Hey Nic if Calgary wins, you owe me one day on the front page of this site a congratulations to Calgary for winning the cup. And a big photo of Calgary holding the cup :p
