They're £15.99 at play.com (I ordered season 3 today) as are all four seasons of the even more superb Futurama!
Nah, Futurama's not even worthy to be compared to The Simpsons... nor is South Park, though it's a nice effort. Beavis and Butthead are cool cartoons, though they don't beat Homer's family... only the mighty Weebl can do it!
will the simpsons ever end? i'm thinking that one day, it'll come to a close, but not anytime soon...

Futurama over Simpsons without doubt. Superior story lines, graphics, special effects and entertainment 
Well it depends on your point of view - having spent a large part of my formative years watching nerdy sci-fi cartoons and programs, I think Futurama's spot on as a parody and since it's now been cancelled it didn't get a chance to become a sad reflection of its former glory as (imho) The Simpsons has become in the last year or so...and the dvd commentaries on Futurama are much better than The Simpsons ones!
Simpsons all the way. A show that has contributed more to my development than any other. None of the others come remotely close.
Just finished watching The Simpsons on Fox. Well, I don't see any reason to buy DVDs, cos they broadcast them everyday at 5.30 on Fox.
Anyway they really beat any show so far!

I have seasons 1 and 2 of la familia Simpson, as well as season 1 of Futurama, but I never watch them. In the case of Fut, it was a fantastic show that nonetheless felt like a Simpsons knock-off.
Speaking of cartoon shows, back when "Family Guy" was on Fox I dismissed it after a few episodes as being somewhat good in parts, but overall a disappointment. Having caught it again on Adult Swim (Cartoon Net), I have to say I've since re-evaluated my opinion. There's just some laugh-out-loud-wet-your-pants-and-bury-them-in-the-backyard stuff (I dare you to watch the "Peter vs. Giant Chicken" fight at the beginning of the Y2K episode without busting a gut). I've been saving my money (or trying to, but failing) for the KITH dvd on April 27, though, so no "Family Guy" dvds for me.
if the simpsons wasnt a cartoon it would have won every award going for comedy.
its story lines,one liners,gags,ect far outwit,outstretch,and frankly kick the shit out of anything on bioceluloide (ooooh nice word eh)thats been done in the last 20 yrs at least.
ok so its a cartoon it can get away with stuff others wouldnt but that shouldnt ditract from its genius. DOH

Yeah, the Fox affiliate here moves it around every now and then (a full hour of "That 70s Show" seems to be the anchor of the mid-afternoon rerun festival, and we're all the poorer for it) but we have it here as well. Does seem rather pointless sometimes to bother with the DVDs when they're right there at 5-ish

The FOX affiliate here shows an hour of the Simpsons and shows Seinfeld as well. Between TBS and FOX, I'm able to watch an hour and a half of Seinfeld straight.
for a while, in san diego, the fox affiliate was airing different episodes at 5 and 7:30... those were the days...
Really like Futurama, but The Simpsons will always have top place in my heart, even though the last year or two haven't been the best.
One reason to buy the DVD's, at least here in the states, is that the episodes in syndication are edited by at least 8 seconds, so that a funny throwaway zinger by a secondary character might get the axe. There was an episode with Disco Stu in it, and I kept waiting for the line, "Disco Stu don't advertise", but they cut to a commercial.
It's always interesting to compare how crude the animation is from the first season onward (one reason I haven't bought the first season yet, though I do have those episodes practically memorized as well).
Season 4 is supposed to be out in June, and I keep hearing things about maybe their being a Simpsons movie, but we'll see.
My two fave episodes, Homer wants to buy a gun to protect his family, but has to wait 5 days for the background check ("Five days???? But I'm angry now!!!") as well as Homer becoming a bootlegger ("Alcohol is my way of life!!"). Oh yeah, creator Matt Groening is from Oregon as well
There was a time when they showed two episodes, either back to back or with a thirty-minute difference inbetween (filled with...you guessed it, That Goddam 70s Show). I'm just worried when they decide to try and force repeats of "Malcolm in the Middle" on us in the afternoon

Apart from Mo Rocca and Rich Eisen(sic), there's nothing to watch on those shows. They should have a show devoted to all the shows they did about "I Love the Eighties" or "Greatest Power Ballads by Bands with a One-Armed Drummer" or something. :D

The back to back Simpsons episodes were from a while ago - at least up in Philadelphia. But, what's wrong with That '70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle? They're better than most of the stuff Fox shows, anyway.

Gets me everytime. Family Guy was a gem of a show that ended before it's time. I did read somewhere that due to the success of the dvd releases, new episondes are being planned. One can only hope.
The Family Guy is really fucking funny because it pushes the limits of the FCC even more than South Park. But The Simpsons are fucking funny without having to stoop to that level.
I remmeber when The Simpsons started. No Fox channel in my college town. We would meet in a packed bar every Thursday (I think Thursday) to watch it over the satellite. 300 people watching in silence except for laughter. Bart was singled out by do gooders and Safety Nazis as the biggest threat to children. But Homer is the real reason to watch the show.

They really need to put Seinfeld on DVD. That will happen soon; they agreed to give jason richardson, michael richards, and the woman who plays Elaine a share of the royalties; so now they will agree to contribute to the dvd extras. I expect a stream of Seinfeld dvd's to start coming out maybe at the end of next year.

That 70s Show became the "Audience Overreaction Show" and just wore out its welcome. Malcolm I think is just plain stupid. I am entitled to my opinion, at least until John Ashcroft comes after me...

I read 2 days ago that there will be 2 last seasons of the Simpsons, then they would do a movie.. but the movie would take a long time to do...
I think it might spoil it making a film. Too much story for 90mins,stick with the TV. Maybe make another season instead?
