come on...give me your favorite way to make one...what kind of cheese...any particular type of picles???
hell...tell me how to make any of your favorite sarnies (isn't that what you lot over ther call a sandwich???)
I've got a new sandwich maker toaster thing, and I want to try it out...
Not fussed on pickles,but favourite cheese is either Port Salut or Monterey Jack. Both nice with ham. :)
Whatever you do about the cheese, avoid "bread and butter" pickles at all cost. I accidentially bit into one of those, almost gagged. Stick with the proven winner, dill pickles 
Camembert, with or without the rind, sliced fresh tomato and a generous sprinkle of oregano--MMMmmm

for my first batch...I've decided to try out 3 different cheeses...got some provolone, monterrey jack, and EXTRA sharp cheddar...
we've got sourdough, rye, and plain old white bread as well, and some ham...who knew we could turn this into Oliver's Twist???
I'll go for Camembert too (as it's one of my faves :) ) with sliced avocado and a nice yoghourt or mayo based sauce.... mmmmmm

Extra Sharp Cheddar needs some onion as well as the tomato on rye bread -yum yum 
Camembert is a soft white cheese with a skin - provelone sounds like it could be similar.
kosher dills and any cheddar! sharp, longhorn, whatevah!
one of my favorite things to do is get all the cheese outta the fridge, open a box of matzo, and with various ways to add moisture (ie: tomato slices, avocado, pesto spread, pickles, mustard, sriracha, guacamole, black olives, cottage cheese, etc...) mix different stuff up. my girlfriend always gets disgusted, but my tongue is always happy! especially fun to do when you come home from a night of drinking!

nah... they are really different. provelone is firmer, closer to plain ol' jack than camembert.
just did one up with monterrey jack (3 slices) some mayonnaise, 8 hamburger sliced pickles, and sourdough bread...it was exquisite...
not like the grilled cheese my mom used to make!!!
4 slices of bread - cheese of just about any variety (obviously not knob cheese Dave) and 4 or 5 slices of ham. Cheese and Ham toastie in one of those old brevel machines.....greasy as fuck, but they sure are tasty:D
Anyone know of a shop in the UK that sells Monterey Jack ? Can't find it anywhere in Sainsburys, Tescos etc.....

I can 100% confirm that Safeway sell it,the Chester branch have it on the Deli section,not cheap but tasty!
