I did and i spoke to people at queens as as far as they are concerned the gig is still going ahead because the arrangement is with the band not the record label.
As far as Festivals in Northern ireland. What about that one in derry? 
or maybe not. Although you could trek to oxegen, despite it being quite possibly the worst festival line up in history, but knowing the musical tastes of most people in ireland, then no doubt it'll be "the greatest festival ever" as witness so always was

Can't get down to Dublin, unfortunately. You reckon the gig's still going ahead in May, then? Good stuff! :D BTW, update for you: I just found out that the lads didn't get dropped, they left. Things don't look so bad for them now.

They'll get picked up no problem. On the festivals, you'll have to get used to not having any festivals in the North. In all honesty its not the kind of place where you want drunken youngsters on a campsite, because it would be inevitable that some sectarian riot woiuld break out. All it would take is some idiot to say something and eventually it would start. Thats what almost happenned at the stereophonics gig, some guy had a republic of ireland flag, and was waving it, security took it off him, and he started kicking off. Thankfully, he was kicked out very quickly, but you cant watch people on a campsite.

afraid to say : its true. moments dont come worse than glen hansard shouting "its so great to be here, im so fucking proud to be irish" in front of 20 odd thousand punters at witness.
