Most moving film of all time?

Can't believe no one has mentioned "The Passion of the Christ" yet.

I know it's probably not the most moving movie I've seen, just the most recent.

I'm not a deeply religious person at all, but it was one of the saddest moments during the Crusifiction scene I'd never heard such an eerie silence in a full movie theatre. I think everyone held their breath through most of that movie...brutal that movie, yes, but also powerful and moving

It could be cos no-one has seen it. Is it any good,its doing the rounds on bootleg dvd here but not had a look yet.

I know , and I'd just bought the book of the film too, the baseball cap tie-in looks a bit impractical though, offers no protection from the rain and looks a bit itchy

Wow, that might be worth a look. I hope he gets revenge on all those Romans. Well I have'nt gotten to the end of the book yet, and I dont wanna give too much away , but my guess is the Romans and his drinkin buddy Judas are gonna be missin from part three

Not moving as such,but just watched "Monster" with Charlize Theron. One fucked up film.

Definitely 'The Passion Of The Christ'. Doesnt matter if youre religious or not, it`s a film you must see.

The end of 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' gets me pretty choked up, aswell....

The most moving film for me, as well as my personal favorite movie ever is Hitchcock's Vertigo. I absolutely love this film. The acting is excellent. It is without a doubt Stewart's best performance. Herrmann's score is the greatest musical score in film history. Hitchcock is my favorite director, and this is his masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful film. I did a research paper on it in school, I think it is the gretest film of all time.

I'm glad someone mentioned 2001: A Space Odyssey, it is a very emotional movie. Not sad, but still very moving. Other moving films for me are Schindler's List, Snow Falling on Cedars, Lawrence of Arabia, Bridge on the River Kwai, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Barry Lyndon. The Passion of the Christ is also a very moving movie indeed.

Definitely agree on One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Would also add The Others (don't know why, my wife thought I was mad) and Betty Blue as well.

Agree that 2001 is moving in a different sort of way.

Beaches is sad. Deadman Walking had me in tears.

The Green Mile

The Thorn Birds. It made me shed tears. It was a heartbreaking experience to watch it.
