Ex Man Utd boss Ron Atkinson resigned as football pundit for ITV after a post match comment regarding Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly whom he called a "f*cking lazy ni**er." The off air comment wasn't broadcast in the UK but was transmitted on live feed to the Middle East. Always thought he talked shite anyway.

Err, I think that's Rowan Atkinson, not Ron Atkinson.

Good riddance to possibly THE most irritating man on television.
I suppose I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised he'd say something like that. Oh well, I guess the old school jumpers-for-goalposts brigade will always have that kind of painfully antiquated (and not to mention deeply offensive)mentality.
Still, "early doors", "bread-and-butter passing".....you'll miss him in the end!!

It would no doubt be a close competetion between tyldsley and atkinson to find the biggest idiot on tv. How many times did they mentiion man united during the chelsea game on tuesday?!?!? ![]()

Could have been worse, actually. Imagine if he'd called him "French"!! ![]()

If he'd have said that, O.B.,he'd have got a medal! ![]()
According to the Grauniad he actually called Desailly a "fcuking lazy THICK n#gger".
Wonder if he'll be writing his weekly article for them tomorrow? ![]()
Daft twat - twas only a matter of time before he said something as mad as that. Speaks before thinking does Fat Ron.
I prefer Clyde than Mark Bright - he is a total waste of time.

Perhaps they'll attempt to counteract Big ron's damage by poaching someone relentlessly dull and PC, who hides his Potteries accent under posher-than-thou vocal tones.....
...Garth Crooks, YOUR TIME IS NOW!!!!

I quite liked Big Fat Ron, the thick white honky, and his featherlite comb over. What a ladies man ![]()
What's wrong with "f-ing lazy nibler"? :D
I imagine he'll find a home at the Fox News staff, commenting on the recent surge of watermelon sales or something ![]()
Ok here's what i thought. He thinks he's off air apparently, so he comes out with this comment about Desailly. Who is he talking to? Clive Tyldsley? If so, are we to think that this kind of patter is something that Tyldsley and the other members of the crew see as acceptable banter? Is it something that goes on all the time? It's not the kind of nugget you would throw into a conversation unless you were pretty fuckin sure you weren't going to incur the wrath of your colleagues. Maybe they're all at it and Big Ron was the one who got caught out.
Still, it's gotta be a good thing cos it means we've got rid of an absolutely terrible fuckin Manu arse kissin commentator.
The only worry is that he will now come back into management. ![]()

well wether we like to admit it or not there is a simmering race issue here in the uk,and as others have pointed out ,big ron and his like are the tip of the iceberg.
whilst i deplore his comments i defend his right to speak his own mind (no matter how bonkers it is).
the british media are currently panning ron for his comments, yet at the same time printing anti islamic stories such as "the face of evil" and "evil in our midst".
disturbing stuff, add that to the most recent headlines of the daily mail staff goose stepping and giving hail hitler salutes during a board meeting makes me wonder whats going on?.
wether u are black, white pink ,purple or yellow, there is good n bad in all of us.
big ron being a man of the world should have known that and engaged brain before gob.![]()

It does indeed. Maybe they've all got that sort of outdated attitude. Still, at least Ron did the decent thing and resigned; not many people in his situation would've.
