CDR Writing problem

For some reason, WMP has decided that a CDR I just uploaded to the Media Library cannot then be dropped straight on to an identical (but blank) CDR without omitting the final track because there "isn't enough room."

Can anyone shed any light on why this may be the case and/or suggest ways round this before I chuck the whole damn PC out of the windowand go looking for Bill Gates?:violent2:

God knows, I've had the same problem - I thought it was just a .wma problem, but the same happened with .wav and .mp3 files. I would say stick to Nero, but it doesn't like .wma files

some cd burning programs dont like you burning any thing over 70 min because the cd may not play in a normal cd player there should be an option to over ride that. Ive burnt cds that go for 79 min and have had no problem, apart from in my discman which wont play anything anyway

80 minutes CDRs can even be "overburned", meaning that you can ask your burning software tool to go drive the writer's head beyond the theoretical limit of the CDR's writable zone. Most 80 minutes disks will allow you to burn up to 82, 83 minutes of music. Not all software tools have this feature, but Nero does.

There also exist 90 minutes disk. Some of them are directly recognised as such by Nero, meaning that Nero will allow you to select up to 90 minutes of music without creating an error. But some 90 minutes CDRs are recognised by Nero as 80 minutes disks, and you must then ask Nero to overburn the CD if you want to put more than 80 minutes of music on it. Just tell Nero that you want to overburn the CD up to 90 minutes, and you won't have troubles with it.

Note, however, that the overburning of a 80 minute CDR or the burning of 90 minute CD is only possible with recent hardware. Old burners won't allow you to exceed 80 minutes. Note also that CDs exceeding 80 minutes won't play in some standard CD players.

Went with Twist's suggestion & after a wee bit of tomfoolery managed to get the thing sorted.

The thing about Burnatonce is that you need to make sure that the setting is for "write" not "simulate." It converts mp3, shn and flac to wav for audio cds automatically. Just load and burn.
